Hi there sorry was reading back to catch up! Am ok thanks! Getting back into working after a year out of work but thats ok. Also getting used to complealy new job which is also a challenge but good! Nothing like a change to get the brain cells working. Money wise not been brilliant as new job also involves new wardrobe as this job more casual than the last one so needed jeans etc. Managed to get some bargainous ones today for £4 which was good. Being rather large it means that getting clothes is difficult anyway so was chuffed with that!
Moneywise doing okish but stillk overspending on GB. Mum and I settling in and trying to be more frugal jointly as thats where the main spend goes and weve both ack that we need to sort it! Lots on cupboards so going to sort that.
Soma hope the party goes well. How old is your little one?
How are other people getting on?

  • Hi Happy - it was over my living situation and some very harsh and incorrect judgements that coupled with my hormones had me almost flooding the flat with tears! lol. Feel much better now tho, thanks :)
You always seem in a good mood, can I have some of what you're having?!

Hello ISOM! The new job sounds great (I went over my CV earlier - shocking! lol) I wish you the best of luck! And agree with Happy - a new wardrobe's always a bonus! ;)
I've got nothing else but I've got my family.

I don't have any children. Party planning is going fine thank you :)

Ladder sorry to hear some people have been harsh, I think you're doing really well.
  • Morning!

Thanks Soma. I have a tendancy to let silly things get me down but I have so much else to think about at the mo there's no room left in my head for silly comments!
Hope everyone is doin ok? What's evreyone up to today?

We currently have sunshine(!) though prob won't get chance to enjoy it! OH won Toy Story 3 tickets a couple of weeks back so he's taking his mum and our dd to the cinema this morning (I'm not going as the material in the seats irritates my skin too badly! lol). I shall either go back to bed for an hour or do some crafting/reading and enjoy the peace and quiet!

  • Hi all I try to keep in a good mood and see the positives in things because what's the point of dwelling and feeling negative. I saw your post re damp? Can you not request a move to a home instead of flat? Speak to citizens advce then speak to your landlord and say they either sort it or you will get someone in to sort it. Get ebviromental health it will make them getva move on or rent somewhere else if you can :-) might be an oportunity for something abit more up your street :-) x

When I got the environmental health ppl out they were the ones that caused more stress (telling LLs I'd complained about them etc. when all I wanted was some advice!). Admittedly I felt in way over my head and obviously I'm not really sure of my rights, which doesn't/didn't help.
Council refuse to house me and my biggest upset is that just yet we cannot afford to just up & move. I would much rather provide for my kids than the council/tax payer obviously.
We were looking into gettin a naval house but now OH wants to leave navy. His idea is to get a better paid job to get us out of here. We're saving a small amount towards our wedding and OHs mum is paying all the rest for us. Moving's hard because I can't rent from an estate agent (won't pass the credit check for starters) and there seem to be no private rented places available - we nearly had one then the tenants decided to stay on last minute! Our number 1 wish is to just buy a house but realistically its a few years off yet and I'm just being impatient!
Thanks for the advice re citizens advice, come the end of the year, I might have been worrying over nothing and the mould may not return(!). If it does, I'll see them asap. I have loads of photo evidence of the ruined toys, the state of the walls/cupboard etc.
My hormones are on the rampage at the mo so am trying to follow your philosophy Happy and keep positive. Not too hard after the day I've had today either :D
Sorry my post is so long! Came on to see how everyone else is doing!
