I thought things had been rather quiet, my Internet cut out a few times whilst trying to post, then I realised I'm not getting all my email updates! Grrr
Haven't got much in the way of ideas for party food, I just go wherever's nearest/easiest! Sounds like a great party that'll be a lot of fun!
Hope everyone is well?I've got nothing else but I've got my family.

Hi everyone
Made our first payment to CCCS on August 1st and first payments to creditors to get to them on 25th of the month.
Have read all the posts since I joined but haven't had much time to post much in the last week or so. So sorry to hear that some of you are having medical issues, either for yourselves or family and others are having a 'low' time at the moment. Others of you I see are moving forward with your payments for your DMPs and still playing toe-tag with letters to and from creditors as are we.
I hope your birthday bash plans are going well Soma.
DH has gone back to work this week and it is always a tough time in this house when he does as the change affects my DD quite badly. So not much sleep and lots of tension dealing with situations. Also we are going to have to do without DHs car until we can save up quite a lot of money to get his car fixed. We are going to have to get a six month tax on my car from September and fill in a SORN for his until the beginning of Oct as his tax is due the same time as mine and since he isn't going to be using it until it's fixed there is no point paying the tax on it yet. It is parked off-road so no problem there. So he is having to use my car which is a bit of a problem on a couple of days a week - especially in September as I will have to take him to work and pick him up etc. Not generally a problem but DD will only be able to go to a couple of her activities because they are all at the time when I should be picking DH up! I already feel boxed in as I really love having the car to take her out when we need to go somewhere - I home educate her and we do like to do hands-on education at museums and places of interest. At the moment we are going nowhere and not doing anything that costs money so we can get money together to fix DH's car then we will be able to settle into the new budget. Thank goodness for his Summer Holidays and extra money that was available to fix my car! Typical that they both wanted doing at the same time just as we are about to launch into the DMP LOL
I have sorted out quite a lot of stuff to take to my first car-boot sale on Sunday so pray for good weather! still not got anything in the paper for the few things I want to sell that way as we have been busy with visitors.
I did do an awesome shop last week that was under budget and I bought alcohol too which is amazing - only because we had a guest!
We CAN do this...LBM: June 2010 DMP started: 1/8/2010

Well done Happy on reaching your 10K - is this for this year? I'm just a bit confused as by your signature you have paid off more than 10K:D:T:T:TLBM: June 2010 DMP started: 1/8/2010

You can do it Soma - think of the great party you are going to have! I think when we are all in the situation we are in now we work harder to get the things that we REALLY want as well as need and it means so much more to us than when we just went out and did it anyway.I'm dreading car booting - I hate having to ask people for money LOL I know it's a conundrum:D It's not the getting rid of things we have - not a problem - it's the haggling over stupid amounts of money as, unless someone is asking stupid prices for something second hand, they are already bargains if the goods are in good condition. They probably wouldn't do it in a charity shop and just pay the high prices that you see these days for stuff that was actually given to them and not all of it in good condition or washed even! So come on Soma I want to hear that you have had a party to remember and think in later years that you had to sell some stuff to have your 30th party:rotfl:

Hi all
Just started on our debt free journey, paperwork sent to CCCS yesterday so hopefully we will get everything set up and Lloyds are not to much of a pain as 90% of our debt is with them...
Been and done a good budget shop today which we were quite surprised at the cost of! Maybe we can do this budget thing eh!!DFW LHS - 246
