Just started on our debt free journey, paperwork sent to CCCS yesterday so hopefully we will get everything set up and Lloyds are not to much of a pain as 90% of our debt is with them...
Been and done a good budget shop today which we were quite surprised at the cost of! Maybe we can do this budget thing eh!!
Well done clareb. Welcome to the world of DMP.
Of course you can do the budget thing - sounds like you have got yourself organised already. Stick with the MSEers and you will find loads of ideas like me! I thought I was organised as a person, and I was already cutting down before starting on the full DMP journey but I have cut down even further with no real loss of lifestyle as such (whatever that may be LOL). Just keep swimming...LBM: June 2010 DMP started: 1/8/2010

pizza is my favourite food...ever! and its my birthday. I can buy nibbles like breadsticks, salsa, crisps and cake now. Any other ideas for nibbles that keep for a few hours? dips don't normally keep well but I guess I could borrow an ice box maybe.0

Well erm, how should I put this? It was hot - good, dusty - not so good, and packed both with sellers and buyers - good. I managed to make, after cost to get in - which was £12 divided between two of us - £17 - not so good LOL On the positive side I ended the day with less stuff and more money than I started the day with - not many times you can actually say that LOL Not enough to help with DH's car repairs I would say LOL
It was our first one (my friend went with me with her stuff) so at least it wasn't a loss. It was full of people who didn't like to pay even 50p for some things! A woman came over to talk to us at the end saying the first one she did she had a load of stuff stolen! She also said that because there were so many people there today, sellers were undercutting others and buyers were playing one off against the other! I wasn't bothered that people didn't like some of my prices - they weren't that high, as the things everyone asked the price of were in excellent condition and were not going to be sold for 50p! I didn't sell anything that cost more than £2.50!
Going to try to sell some of the better things on EBAY. At least it was a good positive experience.LBM: June 2010 DMP started: 1/8/2010

Hi everyone!
Glad to see people feeling happy/taking steps to be happy/making positive plans - good luck on the budget Soma, and well done on the car boot Sunfleur (sorry to read all about the cars!). My OH helped massively with the last car boot sale n just got people talking, and rummaging through bits, which would never have sold had he not been so friendly!
Am currently ebaying a few bits n pieces, albeit at a slow rate, but every trickle helps! Had a couple of sales through local free paper which is another bonus. Our main problem is lack of space and the never-ending supply of toys my MIL sends round (for dd AND OH!!)
My MIL started my car yesterday to move it, but as it's sat still for about a year, it had frozen up so I'm now *very* worried about its condition - the plan was to see if it would get through its MOT (just needs reverse lights fixing as they are stuck on!) and sell it. OH's just got a car (although that appears to have its own faults too! grrr) - an automatic and I'm tempted to do my test in an auto instead, as I have so little driving confidence now thanks to my last instructor! OHs only had 2 lessons but drives really well - am so proud of him!
Been stressing about things recently as baby's arrival is so close (I'll be induced in 10 days if he's not already here by then!) and was really saddened and disappointed by some reactions I got from MSErs on a thread I started asking for advice. Been keeping occupied with DIY and other jobs, sadly overdone it most days too! Still, reaching our goals/ideals for how we want the flat to look. Almost finished the scrapbook I started 3 and a half years ago when dd was born. Started one for new baby so we'll see how many years that one takes to complete! lol.
Today I need to do some more organising around the flat so off I trot, hopefully it won't be too long before I next return!I've got nothing else but I've got my family.
Mum to Moo age 6, Wills aged 3. 2nd wedding anniversary 11/13! :j0 -
