Hi everyone, not been on here since before Christmas as I'm having quite a tough time of it all and I just couldnt bear to come on here and face up to it all.
Anyway my DMP started on the 1st Jan this year, in the meantime my DH had his hours cut and lost nearly £800 in wages over an 8 week period (Dec - Jan), so we have had to reduce our monthly amount straight away which I'm sure wont go down well at all with our creditors. I have also been under threat of redundancy for some time now but today looks like being D Day. I am waiting for my boss to come back from his meeting to tell me but it really does not look good at all.
The most distressing part of it all is that I am trying for a baby but if I get made redundant then fall pregnant I wont receive any wage or maternity pay and I dont know how we will cope at all then so we have stopped trying now. I'm not sure what if any benefits I would be entitled to but without a wage from me we wont be able to afford all of our essential bills. I cant afford to wait a year to see if I find another job then become entitled to maternity pay as I'm 39 this year. This would be my 1st baby so its not like I'm being greedy or anything.
Anyway today and the last month have not been good so I decided to come back on here for some TLC.
Has anyone been in a similar position? Has anyone started a DMP then fell pregnant? Or started a DMP then lost their job then got pregnant?
Hi. Thought i'd post Bailey's message here and see if anyone can answer the last question or has anything to say on it?DFD February 2012

What a day
We were stock taking at work today and my line manager failed to appear. He didn't phone in sick or let anyone know he wouldn't be coming to help (even though he insists on us doing so) so we carried on and did the work anyway.
We displayed about 6 notices explaining to the public why we were closed, but today, I think I must have come across a busload of the rudest people EVER! I tried to explain (very politely) that we were closed (one woman was shaking the door, trying to force her way in!)........ I just can't believe some "grown-ups" behave like that. I must have had a sheltered upbringing! One old lady even tried to prod me....lol.
Anyway, my point is that I've been humming and haaing about trying for a new job for the past week. I wasn't sure about changing jobs in the current economic climate, thinking "better the devil you know" and all that.
My CV was in an envelope ready to go, but I was a bit hesitant about posting it. Today has made up my mind and the application is in the post!
I'm laughing about it now cos I've had my dinner and I'm now having a lovely cup of tea and a kitkat!!!
The good thing about today was I've been too busy stock taking to spend anything, so today was a NSD.

Hi all!! Well things were going ok so far this month until some toerag decided to smash our bathroom window:mad:!! Had to get insurance out & pay £100 excess, to say we are angry is an understatement. We all know that life can kick us where it hurts from time to time but this was totally unexpected. Don't know if it was kids messing about or what as we haven't upset anyone. And i was only saying a couple of weeks ago how the area seems to have calmed down alot since we first moved in. Only smashed the outer pane so glaziers are coming out next week to fix it. I keep saying to myself that there's alot of people worse off than ourselves but this has really p!ssed me off. Got abit more overtime this week so that's cushioned the blow a little but that money could have gone towards our debts. On the plus side only got 2 months left on one of our loans, so will be nearly £140 a month better off after April! Thanks for reading & back soon when i'm in a better mood

Argh TEK! I'd be feeling the exact same I suspect!
Buy, yay, good news on the loan front! Roll on April :j
I actually opened my BT online staement today (usually just read the summary but wanted to check the cost of calls to A&L and N Rock). It urns out I've been paying £2.59 per month for call diversion. Why? I don't even know how to work it! So it is now cancelled!
