What is it you're studying HTGDF? I'm supposed to be doing a diploma certificate at the moment... my house has never been so spotless and I've never drank so many cups of tea; suddenly everything is much more important than sitting down to study!

The roads were fine by the time I left, so no worries there. And I was so close to having a no spend day tto, but I had to pay 20p for parking when I went to the doctors! Almost! Maybe tomorrow I'll manage it!

I hope you managed to get some studying done!!! When I eventually buckle down to mine, I think I may have to get some-one to lock me out of this site on a temporary basis! :-D

Hi all!! Well managed to pay off £453 this month, which isn't quite as much as we'd hoped, but considering I didn't do any overtime, isn't too bad! Got a problem with MBNA. On a 0% deal with them & was paying minimum payment on debit card. Set up a DD with them but cancelled it, as we didn't think we would have the cash in the bank. They have charged us £12 for the DD being returned, even though we had already made the minimum payment on debit card, so going to ring them today to hopefully get it sorted!! Thanks for reading & keep chipping away!!
Hi all, well rang MBNA & they said that they would reimburse the £12 & keep us on the 0% deal:j. Just looked at balance online though & they have reimbursed £11 instead of £12:(! Don't know whether to phone them again & ask them why they have done this. Customer services is a freephone number but you have so many menus to get through to the right department that we are probably getting charged along the way IYKWIM, so it would probably cost more than a quid for the call!! Anyway things not going too bad & worked a bit of overtime too this week so should get quite a good wage next week!! Anyway thanks for reading & will catch up with your posts over the weekend!! All the best!!

Hi TEK, I guess you need to balance up the cost and hassle of the call for £1. You could always write and just see what they do :)

I paid of £336 on my MBNA card. £600 to go, need to double check when the interest free runs out, I thought it was april, but statement suggests June. After folks comments on my SOA, I reckon I should be putting everything extra to my RBS loan, but pyschologically, I think I just want rid of another creditor!

Just had my gym induction - bl**dy knackerd now! Don't know how long I'll last with the gym, but I've booked into the yoga class and the doc recommended swimming for releasing stress, you hopefully I'll at least use the centre for these two if not the gym! ;)

Hope you are all doing well and chipping away :)

Hello everyone, I havent posted for quite some time, I have been meaning to, but you know life gets in the way!! I see there are more new faces - Hello. Life has been plodding on much as normal for the dub household, I reviewed my DMP with CCCS this week and good news, the payment has increased from £86 to £212 a month, so going from being debt free in 37 years (!!!) to being DF in 15 years. Good news. trying to live as frugally as we can, but still having fun. remember PMA, take care all x

Good for you dubgirl, we have a 9 year plan & hopefully we can be DF much sooner than that!! OH being alot better behaved than me when it comes to spending! We weren't really overspending, but we've decided to cut down from having a takeaway once a week to once a month, there will be times when we will have more than one a month, but even if we have 2 or 3 a month that will make us 20 quid or so better off!! We really want to get stuck into these debts now!! Just had online statement from MBNA, they reimbursed us £11 instead of £12 as there is £1 interest charge! Is this worth pursuing? After all we didn't pay minimum payment late we just cancelled the DD! I suppose there'll be a clause somewhere in their T & C's saying that they can do this!

  • Hey All,
Well done DubGirl, thats good going!
TEK - personally, I wouldn't bother the effort for £1. Not very MSE, but it takes enough energy to fight the big battles.
hello to any new joiners - hope you find the support and motivation you need here.

Things ok with me, just plugging away, worked a couple of extra shifts in the pub last week so this weeks pay will be good. OH and I not doing so well, but thats a whole other story that I may share on my diary when I have the energy... I've decided being a grown up sucks. I might regress and let my mum make all my decisions from now on...

    xx
