It just sometimes feels like a huge load with a great many ifs, buts and maybes. But it is better than being constantly worrying about where the money is coming from. and its great to have all the support on the threads. Hey ho, 10 acceptances of our DMP, 12 to go!!

Hi all!! Well managed to pay off £453 this month, which isn't quite as much as we'd hoped, but considering I didn't do any overtime, isn't too bad! Got a problem with MBNA. On a 0% deal with them & was paying minimum payment on debit card. Set up a DD with them but cancelled it, as we didn't think we would have the cash in the bank. They have charged us £12 for the DD being returned, even though we had already made the minimum payment on debit card, so going to ring them today to hopefully get it sorted!! Thanks for reading & keep chipping away!!

  • Hello everyone! :)

TEK - that's still good going. When I pay off less than I wanted to, I think back to how we used to spend and realise I'd probably be another 10k in debt in the time I've been debt-busting.

I'm having a dilemma. I'm not sure whether to apply for two jobs that have come up that would be promotion and more money, (I'm also feeling incredibly undervalued at work at the moment) however, they would be a lot more responsibility and given that I already do a lot of work at home, I'm concerned that it might be very difficult for my family. Being paid a lot more (at least another £200 a month take home, at most £350) is attractive and I really want to make progression in my career, I'm just really unsure whether now is the best time to do it...

    What to do????????!!!!!!!
  • what to do, apply and see how far you get, let mother nature decide... :D if you get the offer then think about it, worst case scenario is you take it 6 months down the line it doesnt fit with family life move on... :D live for today xx

Hey Mum2monkeys, have you decided what to do yet? HTGDF's suggestion would be the way to go - apply, then sit back and see what happens :)

I'm still trying to upload my SOA. It really doesn't like that my water charges are in with my council tax and that my car is leased so doesn't need me to pay for MOT etc paid for and isn't an asset. So I've resorted to copying waht I can and then manually transferring the rest. Though keep getting bored so keep popping off to nosey at other threads and make numerous cups of tea!

It will be done before the day is out!!!! ;)

Eventually, I've sorted out my SOA! Phew, I feel much better - but wow, that took way longer than expected! Perhaps I'm just a slow learner :D

I hope every-one's doing well - and if you've a bit of time to kill, I'd greatly appreciate any comments and suggestions on my SOA. You'll find it here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2245393 (I hope) I didn't really understand the instructions that tell you how to put you link behind the word "here" - clearly that's too techie for me!

Anyway, it's a start - but my oven has just blown up (that's maybe a tad dramatic - the elements sparked and died!) and there is an electrician on his way to give me a quote - lets hope that won't knock the DFW plans to far out!!!
