Not much paying off going off from me unfortunately. However the loan gets paid off in Nov so not much longer to go and will be another £37 better off a month. Except have to pay Mr Empl*yer back £6* a month due to their massive humongous !!!! up. Stupid people in charge eh? Pay one thing off, owe another (not my fault at all), when will I get to tackle a cc?

Oh well the long and winding road it is in more way than one for me.

Welcome all the newbies! I've found this thread so helpful in many ways - the tips are invaluable

    Welcome MB

Ill be around for a good while yet. It can be frustrating seeing other peoples debt good down so quick but everynehas their own paths I guess.

Take each day at a time and as long as the figure goes down we will all get there in the end.

Well done on the limited spends this week ISOM temptation is always about so thats serious will power.

    Happy savings HTGDF

This really hit the nail on the head for me :o

Hiya guys, been dipping in and out if this thread for a while, and after a change in circumstance (ok we had to buy a car when the old one died, but spent too much!) my DFD has gone from Dec '09 to Aug '14 when the loan finishes :o and Dec '12 for the CCs.... We can only use about £325 a month on debt repayment, so with the loan payment being £155, that leaves not-so-much to pay down the cards, hence the long dates.... I'm gutted because I wanted to be DF by now, but accepting whats happened its time to move on... CC debt is £6600, and the loan with int is just over £8650 - total £15,250 _pale_

So I would like to join you guys if thats ok...?

    Sx

    Hi Sarah!

Jump onboard here if you like, it's not as scary as it might seem.

I thought it was at first, it was all part of my changing and facing up to how bad things were for me.

I have found it a friendly and supportive place with lots of hints and tips and advice. It's a long and winding road for me however I'll get there in the end.

    Good luck everyone!

Hello! I'm not a newbie, but I've never joined this thread, and it's just occurred to me that I am also a long hauler! I don't even know when my DFD is, but given my income and the level of my debt, it's a long long way away! I have one debt on a DMP, which will go under £4,000 in September for the first time, an interest free overdraft of just under £1,800, a credit card which was £458 at the start of August, and is now hovering at £275 (once yesterday's payment is through!), then a big scary graduate loan which is due to start being paid off in Jan (which I can't pay off on current salary - will have to redo DMP if I can't come to an agreement with them directly, or if I can't earn enough extra on the side to cover the payment). That itself is over a pretty long term, hence I haven't looked at my debt free date as too eek!
  • Hello :hello: Sarah, Gpuk and Raquela

As other have said this is a really friendly thread that gives support and motivation.

Update from yesterday is that I wimped out of walking becasue its an hour each way and with two kids I knew Id end up catching the bus or taxi back so parking cheaper. I used a few boots points for treats so no extra spends there. DD2 thankfully choose free frames.

Toothfairy came home to a £1 spend and online shopping due late should come in c68.

Should get some money of friend later so will pay in straight to MBNA.
