Debs for some underpants ready for our hols, I have some Luv2Shop vouchers and Debs take those.
Bluddy useless shop!! I wanted 6 pairs of underpants for Mr LW; the ones he has come in packs of three. They had a whole rack full of them, but only ONE pack in Medium. I asked at the desk if there were any more Medium in stock - the answer was No, and they only reorder what gets sold. So how come there were half-a dozen Small, and about 50 Large on the display?? Am I missing something? Anyways, he has three new pairs, so it's a start.
Oh, and for Scrimpers, I duly paid for them with Luv2Shop vouchers, earned from doing surveys. :money:

:T Reminds me of the times I repaired Bailey's favourite toy for him; I'm not sure what it was meant to be, it sort of resembled a cross between an owl and a warthog; but he loved it's limbs off on several occasions while he was here. :D

have you all noticed how much less I have complained about my tum being hysterical since I stopped eating meat almost entirely.. I have a tiny bit once a week at the most...
It doesn't really surprise me; I used to throw up on virtually a daily basis as a child and my mother was forcing me to eat meat (what you didn't eat at one meal you got put back in front of you for the next, so there was no escaping); it stopped when I started work at age 16 and was therefore buying my own food, and of course therefore not eating any meat.

Due desperate plea for ideas on how to slash household bills and/or raise some cash without me having to sell my soul... I've worked out we spend £8 a day on electricity  and that doesn't even include our underfloor heating, as we have an oil-fired boiler and a gigantic woodburner. I may have to switch the radiator off in the chicken house...

Argghhh! DH says not to panic. BUT WHAT DOES HE KNOW????
Offer DH for sale on EBeast? :D

I've been out in the cold, cold snow at 07:00 for Lizzie's walk, put a WM load of bedlinen on, and done the weekly finance spreadsheet backups that I should've done yesterday except Mr LW was using the pc to play Mass Effect 2 so I couldn't do it; and that's about all. Must do better.

Narco - yes, it's not safe to run in the snow.

thanks! I did walk briskly up to the village shop to get a paper. The snow wouldn't have been a problem running but the arctic winds certainly would. Eased off a bit for a while, but just as I'm thinking coffee next then go and drag MIL to Mr T (just to get her moving about), it has started again.

I've had a 2hr severe kitchen blitz. Could do another 2+ but I have other things to do.
    - 1 load through DW
    - Emptied and binned/relocated contents of 4 storage jars on the wall-mounted plate rack by the aga. 6yr old buckwheat anyone? Jars washed and filled with things I use a lot (or at all, in the case of the buckwheat and some soup mix which may contain wheat). Plate rack cleaned; blooming hard work in the case of the shelf the jars were standing on. De-webbed back of plate rack. Ditto the corner of the room next to it. Feel energised to empty other kitchen cupboards but with reports to write etc today is not that day.
    - Put all recyclables into the bin
    - emptied compost bin
    - emptied all other bins in house while I had the large plastic sack on the go.
    - wiped down 4 doorfronts/drawers, WM and DW.
    - Half the worktops in the kitchen now have nothing on them which shouldn't be there, and have been cleaned.
    - various items round the house have been moved to their correct home as I've passed them.
That will have to do for now although I do feel more inclined to continue.

    CC paid.
    Filled bird feeders.
Meanly took a photo of Mr N's car, covered in snow, and emailed it to him saying she (the car) hopes he is enjoying the sunshine......
Had several phone conversations with my brother, nice as broke up the cleaning frenzy now and then.

OK lunch, MIL, Mr T and library next.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

My porch is attached to the house all the time, not just on certain days.
So sorry, Narc0, but for some reason that just made me laugh out loud:D

((Hugs)) to YL and to Dizzy.

I've just played catch up on the Fred, so sorry if I have missed anyone.

A nicely uneventful day today. Dratted snow has been falling for most of the day, but only settling on the grass. This morning I spent with my hands in bread dough as it felt that sort of day, and did a small amount of paperwork. Another magazine rack has been removed from the RoD, and a book has been put on the new chazzer pile. The slinky scales coughed and spluttered, but finally decided to set down at 1lb down from last week. Eating homemade bread is obviously going to help that target - not.

I've just spent a freezing couple of hours waiting for DD at the stables, to avoid the time and expense of a long round trip that would be coming home and going back out again. Nothing planned for this evening - and that includes dinner. So pasta again then. Luckily DH and DD would eat it every day - so sometimes they have to!

    Hi all

Blimey its cold out there, so windy too, feels much colder than last time we had snow. DS1 dispatched to the pub (have said there is no way I am picking him up tonight). DS2 gone to GFS house.

Went into a local town this afternoon as DH wanted something for work. They have one of those huge old fashioned department stores that sell all kinds of random things - most of it very cheap. Wandered around for ages, didnt spend much but it was nice to just browse.

Visited parents and have just put another load of washing in - it will go over the airer in front of the fire when we go to bed I think.
