Ooh, well done on Slinkifycation Pigpen. I have still yet to actually start this challenge, but my tummy tyre now has its own set of love handles, so I really must try.
Sorry to hear your sad news Fayolle.
Playroom sort was halted to attend to furniture exchange. I was (jokingly) asked if I was married by one of the guys when I quite deliberately under-estimated his age. It was his birthday, I'm not a nosey wierdo!
Then the bill of all bills arrived from our builders. The one I have been dreading. The one we will struggle to pay.
Due desperate plea for ideas on how to slash household bills and/or raise some cash without me having to sell my soul... I've worked out we spend £8 a day on electricity  and that doesn't even include our underfloor heating, as we have an oil-fired boiler and a gigantic woodburner. I may have to switch the radiator off in the chicken house...
Argghhh! DH says not to panic. BUT WHAT DOES HE KNOW????

Yay. 120 of the Offspring of the Parish plus 200 parents/carers/Nans/Aunties/all of the formers' neighbours tonight.
Himself has been helping out for the week with me (all in a good cause - his future employability - and my sanity, as he covered yet another job I just wouldn't have been able to do at the same time as everything else). He's now seen just how much is involved - and that it's a damn sight more mentally and physically taxing than anything he's done even before you take into account the easy bit of the events, which is actually picking up an instrument and playing it whilst sightreading and having no proper rehearsals or opportunity to practise together.
Just had my first cuppa of the day (yesterday, to be accurate) and I'm hoping to be able to crawl upstairs and get some kip so I'm able to catch the train(s) to visit a mate tomorrow whilst Himself is playing a fancy gig. He's rather sensibly not moaning about the amount of work involved for the first time and is quietly packing his bag upstairs.
I shall probably be moaning about the state of the place come Sunday morning as usual.
Oh, and on Monday I shall be almost singlehandedly sorting out all the equipment whilst simultaneously sorting, fixing and loading equipment for the next big event a short drive away on the Tuesday morning. And then doing that, loading it all back on the van, then unloading, sorting and putting away, ready for a minor event the day after next
I wonder when I'm going to be able to take the accrued overtime off?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Snowing here too. Tea made and back in bed after hanging washing on maiden as it clearly wasn't going to dry outside. Can I use this snow as a reason for missing my run? If I fly a lot?Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0

Narco - yes, it's not safe to run in the snow.
Morning flyers, snowing here too. Hugs to all who need them.
Today I have to walk the dogs and go to a village event. Anything else (bumbling not flying) will be a bonus.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
The oven is super-sparkly and I should never have let it get into the state it was in, but I'm not entirely sure how it did.
Today I have to pot up 86 plugs that look okay and three raspberries that are are looking very sad. It's much too cold to put them outside so I'm commandeering the table in the dining room window that usually has orchids on it.Better is good enough.0 -
Snowing here too.

Thank you Honey Bear0 -
I'm dressed, breakfast dishes are washed, bed is made. I think the snow has eased enough now to take the dogs for a short walk.Spend less now, work less later.0

Dizzy not really a helpful question but did the insurance not cover it all? Hope you get something sorted, you have so much on your plate at the moment. Its is very likely that I will lose my second (very well paid job). We cant manage without the money it brings in and have no plan b. It goes around and around in my head. DH just thinks something will sort itself out.
Woke up feeling a bit flat but have had a lie in and a lovely hug from DS1 who told me I am the best Mum in the world.
No idea what the day brings at the moment but its snowing here, not settling though.0
