Hope it all goes well tomorrow, and they can do what needs to be done.2023: the year I get to buy a car6

Thanks for the explanation of YNAB, it sounds like a good tool (although I tend to leave it to Mr hb to balance the books ).
I do hope that the guttering can be done tomorrow without the need for more scything. It's not difficult!

Fingers crossed for both of those things!
Minor MSE victory this evening. I had a couple of slightly medical things to order online - started with boots, but before I pressed go, I checked superdrug as well - not only did they have free delivery, but apparently I also had £5 worth of points I could use, so added that to the kitchen fund.
Kitchen fund now stands at £2291.24 😊11 -

Very well done on the amount you have in your kitchen fund Cheery, that's excellent 🙂

Thanks edwink! I'm certainly pleased with how it's adding up. Making me hopeful for savings once I drop a day a week.
Productive morning so far - the gutters have been cleaned, the new car is at the garage, and we are at the cafe, all before 10am! 😊7 -
Impressive morning Cheery!
I tend to find Superdrug cheaper for stuff generally and they have a lower minimum spend for free delivery. And cashback and points - it starts to feel like they’re paying you!
That said, I have about £4 off boots pints now as I got points for my glasses.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Well done Cheery you have achieved loads already today, I am only just managing to sit down and eat my porridge, this morning feels like it has been busy but in reality all that has been achieved is everyone is up, dressed and fed.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Up, dressed, and fed sounds like an excellent achievement to me! 😁
Yes, I've not really done either Superdrug or Boots online before so it was interesting to compare! I do have a nice stash of Boots points as well but hadn't realised how many superdrug ones I had so it was a nice surprise!7 -
I often loose track to the amount of points as well! A few months ago, I added them all into YNAB as cash accounts and was surprised to see I had over 100pounds when they were all tallied up. I've managed to use 1/2 that for a Sainsbos grocery shop, traded several in for amaz0n vouchers & traded yet others for morning coffee's on my work from the office days. I'm determined to make to the end of the summer without actually paying out of pocket for fancy coffee! At that point I'll probably revert to flavoured instant.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Ooh, that's an epic amount of points, well done you!! I'm nowhere near that I' sure. Although I was quite cross this morning when I did the pay at pump thing for diesel and they didn't give me an opportunity to swipe my loyalty card 😂
Finally made it back home, via charity shops, supermarket, diesel, and local farmer to pick up my parcel from yesterday. The other parcel that couldn't be delivered has offered me free delivery next time - nice of them considering they literally couldn't get anywhere near my house because of a giant truck 😂
And the builder has emailed - looking like they can be here early-mid August 🙄 Not quite July, but that was only ever an estimate, and should still be within 5-6 weeks...
Can't wait for it to be over and done with. I suppose this slight shift isn't too bad - means we've got several more weeks of summer with no disruptions, I've got another fortnight off in the middle of August so hopefully we can do some excursions while they're here, and then I'll be able to work in the office if necessary after that (Mr Cheery will have to entertain himself).
So it's dragging on forever it seems, but I'm getting more hopeful that we will have an actual kitchen for Christmas this year!11
