Cheery's country living adventure

Those are wonderful sleeves
And wow to a regular saver maturing, Cheery - very impressive that you know the day! Maybe I should start writing down maturity dates, I've already got one thing happening in April this year, and another in May of next year **faints**.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
I only know because they've sent me several letters and emails about it recently, and because I was annoyed that it was a couple of days late for the Premium bonds deadline, meaning this lot won't go in til the April draw 😂 You've got to have them a full month before they go in, I think - at least my first big lot will go into the March draw!
Will check that later, first of all we need to tuck the chickens into bed and go for a walk. My tea plans have changed as Mr Cheery brought home a pack of reduced Linda McCartney pies, so I'll be having one of those for tea - leftover soup can wait til tomorrow!5 -
Actually, scrap that - turns out it's the 'easy saver' which ends today, not the 'monthly saver' 🙄 Sadly the easy saver has no money in - it's what last year's monthly saver turned into, and I withdrew all the money because the rate was rubbish 😂
Monthly saver actually ends on 21st Feb, and Coventry regular saver on 22nd - so with any luck I might get both of the balances into premium bonds before the start of March, ready for the April draw 😁😁5 -
Hope you enjoyed your Pie Cheery. I can’t wait for you to be in the Premium Bonds. I’ve been lucky so far on small wins and won £50 today so fingers crossed you’ll be as lucky!5

Ooh, congratulations Missy! I can't wait either 😁 Might even download the app! Not sure it does anything other than tell you if you've won though and I imagine you'd figure that out anyway!
Tyre fitting geezer is here - had to go and collect him from the place the satnav takes everyone - like many other people he'd missed our sign... when he rang to say he was lost, I asked what he could see, and he said 'fog' and 'a farm' 😂😂 helpful! Then he got here and said 'I don't understand why anyone would live somewhere like this'🙄 Cheeky so and so.
Anyway, I paid for ma tyre rotation and he's told me I don't need one - I only had the other all season ones put on in March it seems, and I've barely driven anywhere since then! So I've rung and they've sorted me a £15 refund - not sure whether to throw that at the mortgage or stick it back in the car maintenance pot.
Speaking of mortgage, I realised I've not actually been counting up how much I've overpaid each month! Just checked January - unusual because there was a lump sum refund and a few other bits. Contractual monthly payment is £919.99, and in January we paid off an extra £1284.19 😮😮
Clearly it won't be that much every month, but the standing order is now £1500 so that's a decent wodge. Already overpaid an extra £28 this month (the water bill), and got the interest on two regular savers to come. Exciting!
Right, best get on. My pie last night was great - I confess I had it with supermarket value smash and gravy 😂😂 Got another one waiting for me tonight.
We're due a massive dumping of snow at the weekend it seems, 2018 levels 😮 Given it was up to the top of the wheelie bin a couple of days after we moved in here in 2018, we're going to do a bit of a shop tonight to make sure we've got plenty of essentials in! 😮5 -
Well it there's lots of snow coming I can guarantee that we'll get some rain... The kids are desperate for a good dumping of snow so that we can go out with the sledge, but alas the weeks are running out fort another year!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......4

Right, he's gone now - glad I paid for fluid top ups, apparently we had barely any oil in at all 😮 Really must get on to of car maintenance... 🙄 But to be honest it's a very easy thing to pay someone else for so while I'd love to be more competent I feel like I have enough on my plate right now... One day!5

All going well then! The skillset of basic car maintenance would be a great one to have, but I'm sure you're right, that taking that on in addition to everything else would be a bit too much on your plate. Though I also want to see you with plenty on your plate if there's snow coming
see what I did there?
2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Ha, yes KC, certainly will want plenty on our plates!! 😂😂
I've been out to let the chickens into their extension - it was foggy earlier, and the extension isn't fox proof, so I don't like to take the risk. However the sun is shining now, so they can have more space to potter.
Noticed that the greenhouse window was open - seems the catch has come undone in the wind, and the pane was partly dislodged. Glad I caught it, and I've managed to shove it back. It's one that I replaced last year, so plastic rather than glass fortunately.
I was surprised at how warm it was in the greenhouse! Definitely going to get some seeds started this month. Need a bit of a plan to make better use of the space first though I think.5
