Hot chocolate and amaretto sounds lush 😋
I prefer my Baileys over ice, but I wouldn't object to it being in hot chocolate.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I'd rarely object to Baileys in whatever form! 😁
Today is going ok. Mr Cheery had a docs appointment this morning, but couldn't get the car up the drive, and as he was trying, the docs rang to rearrange the appointment anyway as the doctor herself couldn't get in 🙄
I'm on a callback to Tyres on the Drive to get all season tyres fitted. They're on the other car, but the other car has an intermittent fault so we're reluctant to take it out - it'll need replacing at some point but now doesn't seem the time since we're barely going anywhere.
Turns out the new car does actually have all weather tyres on the back, but not the front - hoping adding to the front will make it better as it's bloody useless at the minute! Need to speak to them though as it has different sizes tyres on the back and front, and I want to make sure they should all be the same before I order them. Hopefully they'll be able to fit this week (if it stops snowing for long enough for them to get here, that is!)
Work is going ok, not very interesting today but ploughing through. Had leftovers for lunch which was nice. Might go and make a cuppa in a minute, and chuck a few bits of veg and lentils in the slow cooker for later.
Tonight I want to get the rest of this draught proofing on the back door, and I WILL get into the loft to sort out curtains, although they probably won't get put up til the weekend.
Checked premium bonds - looks like I'm not a millionaire this month, hey ho...6 -

My anti-procrastination chores for today are to take down the wreath from the front door & put the compostable parts into the wheelbarrow for the farm-hand to cart away. Also to take the Xmas tablecloth off & replace with a springlike one!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Glad I'm not the only one with Christmas paraphernalia- our tree is still up!! 🙄😂😂 Refusing to take it down til something more cheerful happens 😂😂4

Another one here who needs to be mindful of nutrition. I feel dreadful when I eat poorly, then eat poorly because I feel dreadful! I didn't win PB either and must have been a bit eager to check as the draw hadn't even taken place when I checked my app a few times before work!

So the OH tried to ply me with Bailey's again today - LOL - and I'd not had a single meeting! I'm not going to read too deeply into his intentions 🤣🤣🤣
The wreath is down, but the table cloth is still in situ - Christmas cloth napkins have been washed but not ironed, and the red & white felt plant pot sleeves recused from various windowsills. The twinkly lights in the windows & on the fireplace mantle are staying until at least spring equinox if not all the way to Easter - they make me feel very cheery indeed 😄💝

I quite understand RT - even when I do eventually get round to taking the Christmas tree down, the twinkly lights will be sticking around!
Cath, yep, there certainly is a cycle with eating isn't there?? Trying desperately to drag myself out of it. I actually do better when I'm in the house all the time - I'm very much a secretive face-stuffer, and I tend to do most of my chocolate eating at work, or on solo trips out. Obviously not doing much of that at the minute...
Eaten MUCH better today though! Smoothie for breakfast, leftover noodles and stir fry for lunch, and I did put the slow cooker on in the afternoon, which I was very glad about. Mr Cheery and I went for an extremely soggy walk (during which I discovered that my rigger boots are no longer waterproof...) and I returned to a nice hot lentil and carrot soupMost pleasing, and there is enough left for lunch tomorrow too. Bravo!
It's raining quite a bit, so our snow is melting, thank goodness, as we do need to get the car out tomorrow (the roads are fine, just our drive isn't!) I've booked for our tyres to be changed (at home) on Thursday morning, and have paid a little extra to have them check and top up all the fluids etc too as I confess I just cannot be bothered. I got a £10 discount on the tyres, so that covered some of the cost. I didn't go for the cheapest delivery slot either, partly because I wanted to get it done before it's due to snow again, and partly because we have a succession of medical appointments that I'm trying to dance around, so I went for a 4 hour slot rather than a whole day one.
Bit of a gloom settling again this evening, so I need a plan to get me up and doing. I know it's 7.30 but I'd like to do SOMETHING with the evening!
* washing up
* change sheets
* measure and cut ONE piece of plasterboard
Ha - even if I just do those things I'll feel like the evening hasn't been completely wasted!9 -

...Wait, red and white felt plant pot sleeves? Why did I not know about this? Brilliant

Ooh, they're pretty RT!
Well today is going reasonably well... work is chugging along nicely, ticking off a few small tasks that have been knocking around for ages (although still avoiding the big task with a Friday deadline - MUST get on the case with that!)
Had leftover soup for lunch, and there's still a teensy bit left, so I'm going to fry up some leeks and kale from the garden and have those with pasta and the last of the (very thick) lentil soup as a sauce.
Regular saver matures today so I have the excitement of withdrawing and closing that, and paying the balance off the mortgage. What fun!
What else? Had an email from Martin saying I'm paying too much for electricity, and an electricity invoice for £92 for January, so I might investigate that. We're still in credit though, and of course it's massively increased by me working at home all the time - I tend to put the electric heater on in this one room for most of the day, and don't bother putting the central heating on til early afternoon most days (Mr cheery is pretty nocturnal at the mo so it usually stays on then til about midnight). So I'd expect a higher electric bill in January of course.
One day the central heating will be properly sorted and this end of the house will warm up as much as the other end, but until then, this is how it is...
Will investigate Martin's options, but I'l be sticking with a green tariff so they might not be much better...6
