Thank you all for your kind words 💜
Been a bit of a tough day here but we are ending it more cheerful than we started it. We've buried Maud under the fruit trees - that's all of our original ladies in there now 😥
The others seem ok, following us around a lot as usual. We've done a bit of digging, more for their benefit than ours 😂 I also managed to occupy myself by putting up my new fence that arrived the other day. Not finished yet but all the posts are in and the chicken wire is round three out of the four sides so getting there!
Tomorrow the weather is looking ok so I'll try to finish the fence, and also finish the section of wall that I've been working on. Then over the next few weeks while my seedlings grow in the greenhouse, I can make a couple of grates for the veg patch, and slowly clear the ground ready for planting.
Will try to attach a photo of its current state so you can compare...

So sorry to hear about Maud, but I’m sure she appreciated all your love and care.
Love that you gave the others hugs of which they were unappreciative - that frequently happens to our cats and it’s funny that you can just tell that they really don’t want to be hugged!
Enjoy your walling today - hope the weather is better with you than it is here.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

What an amazing view you have there Cheery8

Thank you all. Yes ElmoR, we very much enjoy our view! It's one of the main reasons we bought this house, needing as much work as it does and in the middle of nowhere. I love it
Nothing to report here, just popped in while I'm waiting for the pizza to cook. Yes, pizza again - we're trying to run down the freezer so we can defrost it. The ice cream has been finished, and I think there is one pizza left now, and some frozen veg which we'll likely make into soup or something.
Dehydrator has been put to good use - three jars of mushrooms now, and also some courgettes that I need to find a container for. Nothing else immediate on the horizon to dry out, but it's still exciting.
I'm going to get on with banks and YNAB later, tis the start of the month after all, and it will be interesting to see what we've not spent this month (although we have bought fence, dehydrator etc plus a few chicken vet trips so I imagine it won't be that different to normal...)
Hope you're all good today x7 -
Morning all,
Just quickly popping in while I wait for the work computer to wake up. It's had 10 days off and has now spent 45 minutes slowly thinking about logging into my emails!Maybe I just shouldn't bother
Nothing to report. New bra arrived and is very comfortableGreenhouse panes not yet arrived but they were dispatched on Friday (finally) so I'm hopeful. Trying to get back into Monday Finances so have set aside some time tonight for YNAB/banks - need to check if my rail refund has arrived too...
Oh, and I was going to see if I could set up the tablet to do MB stuff as well. Not done any for a few weeks, but it would be nice to get back to it, and if I can sort it out on the tablet, I can just leave it going next to me while I'm doing YNAB - that's the theory anyway! I'm still paying subscription fees for Team Profit & Team Casino, and have now had a whole month where I've not made anything (which means £30 of subscription fees paid for nowt) - need to cancel those if I'm not going to do it at all, but I'd like to at least have a little try again.
Right, looks like my emails have loaded now, best go and face the music...

Thanks - they arrived this morning, hooray! Now I just need to remember where I put the fixings... (although they might actually just be attached to the greenhouse...)7

Evening chums
Two of the greenhouse panes are now afixed, but I couldn't find the other type of fixing to attach the third.... I think they may helpfully be stashed in the pocket of the coat I was wearing when I put the greenhouse up two years ago...
Hey ho. Back to work today, and I also managed 2 loads of washing, a short walk this evening, a little bit of walling (just half an hour, it was really windy and the dust kept blowing in my eyes), and watering the greenhouse.
And finally got round to YNAB/banks too! All looks fine, not had refund from train tickets yet, forgot to send a picture of them cut in half so will do that tomorrow morning. Had an email to say the savings account rate is dropping from 0.8% (which was already a drop from 1.3% originally) to 0.01%We'll be paying them to keep hold of our money soon!
Still, I am NOT complaining at all, the pension lump sum is in there and generated a grand total of £43 interest last month, which is not to be sniffed at.
Right, time to curl up with a hot water bottle I think!8 -
Finally remembered to send a picture of my cut up train tickets for a refund this morning. Wish I'd never collected them - I didn't collect them until AFTER I was meant to travel, and only collected them because I thought I had to send them back in the post... Anyway I sent a photo of them cut in half to the 'refunds' email address as requested - and I've now had a reply from the 'sales' email address asking me to send a photo of the cut up train tickets to the 'refunds' address...
I've checked and I definitely did that the first time... So I've done it again and asked them to clarify whether it's gone to the wrong address, or whether they can't see my photo.
