So sorry Cheery, having been brought up alongside an assortment of livestock and pets I did hope that she would slip away in the night in the company of the others as is the natural way of things.
You have both given your hens a lovely life in the time that they have been with you, I hope that you can take a little comfort from that - hard though it isThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)7 -

No need for a vet trip 😥 obviously we're very sad, but also pleased that we were both here to have a last day with her 😥 We took her up to the run last night and she had a last peck round with the others, then took herself off to bed in her favourite spot. When I peeked in later the other three were all snuggled round her, and I found her in the same place this morning 😥
The others have been given a hug (that they didn't appreciate) and informed that they are NOT to get ill for at least 6 months as we can't take it 🙄
So sorry.
Hug for you too.
It was nice that she went in a warm, peaceful place with her pals snuggled next to her. Who could ask for anything better? You’ve done her proud. 😘(I just lurve spiders!)

Aww, bless you Mr & Mrs Cheery. Be so proud of the fact that you both spoilt her and cared for her when she needed you most. Pleased she went to hen heaven in the night surrounded by her feathered friends.
Take care
