Cheery's country living adventure

Thank you all! 😁
Pleased to report that Mr Cheery returned from the supermarket with caramel buttons, milk choc buttons, white choc buttons AND maltesers, among other things 😮😮 I had free reign to eat as many as I wanted yesterday 😁 but today they've been hidden and we're back on rations 🙄 No bad thing as I have NO inbuilt stop mechanism and would just keep going til I couldn't get out of the front door...
Raining a bit today so I'm concentrating on inside. Feel like my days off are drifting by in a haze of reading, internet messing and not very much else, which is ok but I'd like to get SOMETHING achieved while I'm off...
So this morning I've been tackling the utility room. We come into the house through this room so it ends up being a repository for wellies, shopping, recycling, chicken food, and anything going in and out of the house, and consequently ends up quite a mess. It's also the pantry while we have no proper kitchen.
Mr Cheery put away most of the boots etc off the floor yesterday which made the whole thing look more manageable, so I've finally scraped up and washed up all the bowls that had been used for chicken food, and wiped down everything, washing machine, freezer, surfaces, walls, and done a good Hoover. Just sitting down for tea and cake (we've put the rest in the freezer now...) and then I'm going to tackle the cupboard under the sink - goodness knows what's in there but I reckon it could be put to better use...
We've brought Maud in the house for treats - she seemed to perk up slightly after steroids for the vet yesterday but today seems a bit quieter again and isn't really interested in food... sigh. Still, she can stay inside in the warm for a couple of hours and see if she's tempted by chicken food, corn, mealworms, porridge, yogurt, grapes, scrambled or a bit of my birthday cake...
Ooh, Mr Cheery just turned up with some rations - four caramel buttons AND three maltesers! 😂12 -
Four buttons and three maltesers - he's really spoiling you now Cheery 😉

I’ve had to stop buying vodka, because, as deliveries are so spasmodic, I ordered a load that was supposed to last me ages..............(cough).
Similarly, I ordered three packets of biscuits and several bags of crisps, but am already a third of the way through those. They’re supposed to last three weeks until my next delivery, and they only arrived on Saturday! 😱☹️😱☹️
It’s just easier if they aren’t in the house In the first place!
It’s a good job the rest of my diet is really healthy!
Could you perhaps clone Mr. Cheery and sent me the clone to ration me my treats too?(I just lurve spiders!)

Ha Pyxis! Yes that would be a great idea 😂 I'll see what we can do. Someone must have sussed human cloning while we're all stuck inside?! 🤔😂8

I'm loving the cloning advances
and Cheery, that sounds like great work on your utility room

If cloning Mr Cheery is possible, I might make myself a clone as well - could always do with another pair of hands around here! 😂
Just popping in to report something hitherto unknown - I had an email requesting a meter reading and I DID IT STRAIGHT AWAY! 😮😂😂 Don't think I've ever done that, and we've been running on estimates all year! Don't know what came over me 😂
In other news, my fencing staples arrived today. They're massive 😮 Far bigger than the ones I expected (but they ARE the ones I ordered, I just guessed rather than measured... Mr Cheery reckons they're perfect for the job in hand, and plenty of other jobs - which is good because I ordered 1200 of them 😮😂
Just need the actual fence now... no rush though as I've only just planted seeds in the greenhouse so plenty of time (and I need to finish my wall first!)
Been enthused by my utility room pottering and started sorting out some clothes in the bedroom too. Nothing drastic, just sorting through an accumulated pile of washing and running kit and scarves and nonsense. Still, a basket is empty now and I have some underwear in the underwear drawer so all good.
Checked delivery dates and my greenhouse replacement panels should have been here today (well, yesterday was the latest delivery day...). I know things are a bit out of whack but they did say they were shipping within 48 hours and it's been over a fortnight now. Might give them a ring tomorrow...7 -
Sounds like you could make a fence out those staples! 😁(I just lurve spiders!)
