So what are Green Days? I only know SP, but I've seen this idea of Green and Red Days is it? Never understood it.

Red and Green days are the old SW plans before Extra Easy was introduced in, I think, 2010 Some people still do these days but it is unlikely newer members will have the old books in order to do these. I occasionally do Green days but very rarely Red days. The range of HEBs is larger on Green days than EE, not sure about Red days as haven't got my old books to hand and don't do them often.

Basically Green days are carb based and Red days are protein based.

EESP was introduced a couple of years ago and that is similar to the old Red days but not exactly the same.

    HTH.

    :eek::rotfl:

    Thanks but confused me......:D
Just eaten a Graze Protein Bite.
140 calories, no idea what syns.
Dropped on a box of 4 in boots for 40p, notice they are around £3 for 4 so don't think I'll be paying full price for them, they're tiny, but tasted healthy?!
curl girl with a space - even though there is no space in my cupboard!!!

Probably didn't explain very well but as not supported by SW any more wonder if it would have been better not to have tried to explain it in simple terms!

If you post the details from the packet can put through the syn calculator bu if there is no Free food in it then it'll be about 7 syns:eek: so probably not worth it if they are tiny!

The idea of carb days sounds a bit strange to me. I know you can't cut carbs completely, but surely having a day where you focus on carbs is going to cause you to have an insulin spike? That isn't good for you.

A small amount of carbs everyday must be preferable to a whole day where you're essentially carb loading? Maybe I'm not understanding though.

You still have to eat loads of Speed foods as well. You just don't have the protein, although you can choose to have a measured amount as one or two of the HEBs - you get two HEAs and two HEBs on Red and Green days.

:T on your pound topgirl. I expect you're saving a few syns for tomorrow though?

I'm sick of the football season too greentiger. I was resigned to our fate but last Saturday raised hope and it's the hope that gets to me. We've got three matches left:(

At the risk of causing extra confusion:o, I always think of Green Days as vegetarian days. I think particularly for a veggie it's a better deal than EE. So you can eat all veggie foods including pulses and yogurts but no meat or fish. Then you're allowed 2 HEAs and 2 HEBs. It's great if you want extra bread or cheese. You should have Speed but there are no rules about how much.

(Ironically if you did want to try it you can have a measured portion of meat/fish on Green for a HEB).

So I went next level on this for the last 7 days after my +3 gain last week, so I'm desperate for a decent loss. Upped my speed food, reduced my protein intake a little and once again focussed on where carbs might be turning into syns (that extra round of bread).

I would like to lose the 3lbs I gained last week, any more is a bonus, otherwise I'll be really wondering what's going wrong. I rarely diverge from plan, no chocolate, crisps, any of that, so I've simply been adjusting the quantity of free foods based on whether they're P and S (it's a calorie counting diet, don't forget that), oh and reducing those Hex B's to only the measured amounts.

My next milestone is to get under 14 stone, which will leave me just over 1 stone away from target. I'm close. Home straight.

    Fingers crossed.

By next level on Stoke, do you mean that you're gradually getting closer to following the plan exactly? You've obviously got all the basics but if you've not been measuring bread then you've got room to tighten up.

That's fine if you want to ban crisps and chocolate because you can't trust yourself to stop but I do hope you are having syns. They're built into the balanced eating plan alongside all the other foods.

Proteins are good for you so you don't need to reduce them provided they're not overtaking the amount of Speed. It's not essential to do EESP but the closer you are to 50/50 Speed/Protein the weightloss should be better but it doesn't work for everyone.

The only things you have to measure should be HEXs (unless you have packs like Weetabix) and syns. I always go by eye for my third+ Speed food. What else are you measuring/counting? That's the easy part of SW, very little measuring needed.:)

I'm out this evening but I have 23 syns left until tomorrow evening. That should be fine to see me through.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, half HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, baked beans
L: veggie omelette with pickled cabbage, red berries with yogurt
    D: steak, new potatoes, salad
    Syns: glass wine, salad dressing

Greentiger, try 'King and Maxwell', David Baldacci, 'The Secret Life of Bees' Sue Monk Kidd (does that count?? lovely book) 'Killing Floor' Lee Child - not sure if these would be to your taste. Should all be in the library.

Bubbs I got some bargains from Asda, too. Skinny jeans, 2 thinner jumpers, a tshirt, shirt/blouse (all in anticipation of warmer weather - haha!) and a jumper for OH. It's all very well losing weight but it's a real thrill being able to confidently pick up a smaller size!

Well done on your loss TopGirl and thanks for the Creole Chicken recipe last week - delicious!

    Today's Menu
B Bran flakes berries yoghurt and honey (1)
L JP cottage cheese salad LTL mayo (.5)
    D Speedy spaghetti bolognese

    Have a good day all.

Brilliant NSV! It took me a while to stop picking up 18s and thinking they'd fit.
