Oh, I've just seen how long the forums are shut for!!!! Disaster ... must be going to look very spiffy when they reopen.

Bob, it was so lovely to be in my home town! My mum lives in a small town outside, but unusually we went in to Liverpool on Saturday and Sunday, it was great. My accent veers all over the place - my normal these days is pretty southern, I have to say, but in Scouseland its fairly gritty, to my ears anyway.

I kept getting surprised by *which* shops had closed .... and I was staggered by the state of Bold Street - it used to be the exclusive street in Liverpool, and now it has Home Bargains and Oxfam..... that saddens me.

Today, I've been getting quotes from pest controllers (for the spiders! two of those mega ones were on the stairs yesterday) and slogging my guts out on the flooring in part of the house ... its a long way short of perfect, but its better than what I had, and that'll do till the renovation or till I leave.

Celebratory bottle of wine got opened! I'm still on holiday. And my knees hurt from kneeling on the floor for so long, ow ow ow. Nothing major, still able to appreciate the sun when it came through.

    G'night all.
    xx

Oh I use the suction hose, believe me - those two last night didn't know what had hit them. But thats kind of the point ....its not spider season, and I've k.o.'d four since yesterday.

The quest for spider control is helping cleanliness too - I beat the mats, swept the porch, and spent ages filling in gaps between floorboards with cork, as well as the whole vinyl thingy. Lots of sweeping involved. Ooops, a glass of red wine too, can't type, can ahrdly see! Better go to bed ...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............. zzzzzzzzzzzzz........... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hi Shaun! Those smileys admirably sum up what I've been raving about .... I could wish the spider didn't move, tho - thats exactly what these monsters look like, without the smile and the blinkey blinkey :) None of them invaded my bed (that I know of ) so I'm still alive.

I haven't tried the search facility for a while... I've just been adding to today's to-do list from Martin's email yesterday - hoping I've got those extra Boots points, that would be nice (I've downgraded to cheaper shops, so don't often *get* any Boots points!).

I have a routine medical thingy today, have to buy some DIY thingies to finish off the work I did yesterday, and then one of the pest control firms is coming by to give me a quote. Food would help, too, I *suppose* I'd better buy some :)

Ooh yes must remember the Boots thing!

I've never really thought about pest control firms dealing with spiders, but I suppose they must do!

Hope your day goes well x
