Well, I didn't drink  I don't do that any more when life goes bad, tho I still think about it. A little bit of a corner turned - I found where I'd put the French I'd written to talk to the French mortgage bank. I'd typed it on the laptop, cos I knew I'd have to rewrite etc etc etc. :o:o:o I was just ready to start again, and here it is, thank heavens, found it.

I've also just sent a (half) snotty email to betdaq, telling them that since they've b*ggered up the return of my money so completely, I'll check for myself whats happened, and whether more money has come to me than should have.

    That feels scary but good.

  • I don't drink much either..i could have done with one tonight though..

Good for you on giving them the facts straight as it were.

You had a bad night too Bob? I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight - see you tomorrow, and thanks again for your support today.

  • Cheers KC it is a bad night every night at the moment. I seem to ping awake and it drives me mad, plus his majesty is off again so sleep down on sofa bed tonight. I am quite snuggly so no need to worry.
Hope you are ok, the support is a mutual thing on here isn't it?

The support on here is lovely ....I simply can't imagine how I'd have coped yesterday if I'd been completely on my own. I was still shaking late last night after it all - when I was typing a word that needed two letters together like the "pp" in "support", I kept doing three....

I managed to sleep, but not enough, and I have a *lot* to do today:
    - email betdaq, waiting to send the money back till they've responded.
    - fund my paddypower trader account, which was why I wanted the euros back in the first place (but they don't take moneybookers, so I have to do it from sterling anyway, sigh ....)
    - pay a French bill.
    - ring my French mortgage account people. In French. Now that I've discovered the French I wrote at the end of last week.
    - stand under the shower for, like, half an hour :)
    - email cousin (maybe, thats not crucial).
    - meeting with my work partner.
    - two long sessions, both with traumatised people who phoned me yesterday.
    - get my washing out of the machine! With everything that was happening, I didn't do it yesterday....

I just caught the finish of Martin's slot on gmtv - its a good reminder that there are people out there here in *this* country, let alone overseas, who are a lot worse off financially than I am.

Thanks Squirrel. I've done the betdaq email, funded the paddpower account (they've extended the deadline for the offer, and I'll need it, the money will take 3-5 days)... just about to ring the French bank, finally.

EDIT: have spoken to the French bank, finally finally finally - asked to speak to someone who had English, and still needed to hop into French every now and again. Boy .... I'm completely wrung out, and its still not quite 10.30.... going to get a quick shower now, then its off on meetings and sessions.

  • Good luck with the meetings and you do sound a bit fraught already. Breathe and take it all in..everything will work at its own pace and be ok. If it doesn't then that is fine too. And look at what you have achieved so far, i would never have given the French banks what for with my poor schoolgirl French.
    Take care KC. xx
