Hi Bob - well, its above freezing in the south, at any rate, but what you're getting as snow, we're getting as rain. And timber :rotfl:
I've got an extra session today, as well as the usual, and must tackle the other part of the French accounts - which is listing every contact detail I can find for the bank that has my mortgage, and drafting a statement in French of what I want to say. I managed it on the fly yesterday, but that was fairly easy stuff in comparison
And I *am* going to stop for a little bit in the afternoon so I can watch Barack Obama, the inauguration is at 5pm our time, I believe
Thats about it, I think. Going to have a quick mooch around on the site and then shut down to do some work before that extra session. Hope everyone has a good day.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I heard about the timber..hmm do you have a wood burning stove by any chance?
It is all very exciting about the Obama inauguration.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

No, I don't have a woodburner :rotfl: - I haven't heard a thing about it since I switched the news on, it was Barack and now its Stargate Atlantis - Ronon's first episode, yay! :j
Ol' Barack was great - and there was a benediction at the end, and the preacher giving it was genuinely funny, which was a really brave choice.
French news: the money's in my bank, and the mortgage bank has put accounts online! I don't have the right number of digits in the number I have, but things are moving - snail's pace, but moving.
Off to ogle Ronon now .... :kisses2:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Wasn't Obama's speech fantastic, I listened to it on the radio when I was walking home... I almost cried

Wasn't it great? I felt quite emotional about it all - even the anthems which I have always associated with a kind of american arrogance - felt genuine (and Aretha Franklin was fantastic!). I am really impressed with Obama - and hope he follows through with the integrity he shows now whatever successes or failures he has.0

I felt very emotional about it all as well. I just wonder tho - I distrust politicians as a matter of principle. Is he really an exception? He doesn't *come* from a privileged bloc, but he might well have been adopted by one behind the scenes.... I'd love to believe in him, and emotionally I *already* believe in him. But we'll see. My god, what an honest politician in that office could do for the world .....2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I admit to a tear or two at the inaugaration. It really lifted my spirits last night for some reason and there was a lot of affection about. I thouroughly enjoyed his *inclusive* speech, just what the world needs.:T
OOeer at the French banks or maybe at Ronan's first episode ..nah that should be phwoarr..:rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Okay, got time to do one more thing on the comp, then wash up, then its my one hour of paid work today, then to the postbox. Breathing deeply the while, to get the best of the sunshine.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
It is a lovely day isn't it, I bet it's even nicer down there! Ooh I never told you that new blokey's family all live down your way, not in the town but on the edge right by the countryside (bit like you do?)
