Aha! Thanks KP - still not done the French stuff :o am I mad or wot? First thing is to sit down and try to trace those missing invoices for 2008, 2 of them - if not, then phone the bank and get duplicates, even if I have to pay. Then do the rest.

I think in future I'll make a list like that. And file all the sh*t better :money:

Hope you have it all under control now as is a messy business and so unrewarding unless you are on her salary of course:rolleyes: :D

I still haven't done anything (!!!) but just got my qype goodies :j A ninja, haribo sweeties, a long sleeved t shirt, and the mini ipod shuffle! I must be the only would-be techie on the planet who doesn't actually know how to use an ipod :o I'll post on the techie forum soon. I'm just off to work now, but wanted to post and keep going :o:D

:T yay to qype!!!! :T. Had a card put through the door by postie so assume that's what it is, will collect tomorrow. I too don't know how to use an ipod but need to learn so I can download Hypno's sleep thingy. zzzz :o zzzz. No chocolate ninja though , that's a disappointment.

Bob - thanks! I've finally got the paperwork out, and am astonished to find out how much I've done. I now need to contact the French mortgage lender and the French bank to find the missing info - no problem with the bank, they employ English people, but I've literally never contacted the mortgage lender, no clue what will happen

gallygirl - mine came all in one packet, a big stuffed A4 packet, so you might well have the chocolate ninja (chocolate *coloured*, its not chocolate :o )

Panda - good luck hope it is!

Qype are amazing, really, aren't they.

Hi ho. I keep looking at profits on the trading and not taking them, I don't focus back on it regularly enough to take the trades. I'm trying again this morning, every 15 minutes.

....and I was stirring my porridge and missed the entry. I mean, I *want* to fail, right? I must do. Fifty points gone (I'd have got out after ten, from fear, but it would be nice to gain *something* from this knowledge).

Good news on the French bank statements front. Just rang the bank ( at only half a pence per minute, thanks to Martin) and the nice bloke there who was born in the town I now live in said he'd print it out and send it to me. Va-va-voom. I make such heavy weather of all this!

Okay, before I go I have to:
    - pay my monthly credit card off.
    - register the shop and scan thingy.
    - check any urgent post.

Yes, Qype are a lovely lot. I feel really guilty now as I haven't been back on the site since a few days after the Amazon voucher - just haven't had the time. Got a lovely bunch of pressies though - imagine getting an Ipod free! Think I'll keep hold of it and see if I can give it as a gift.

When you're talking about the trading, how much money is at stake? Like, 50 points - what does that mean in real (idiot) terms?
  • My teenagers already claimed the Ipod I am thinking that they should now do their own reviews..

Hope you have now finished accounts KC.

Morning! Keeping hold of the ipod as a pressie is a thought ..... hmmm..... for me, it might be an easy way of joining the 21st century tho. I'll deffo think about that one.
When you're talking about the trading, how much money is at stake? Like, 50 points - what does that mean in real (idiot) terms?

Ah! what 50 points means depends on how much you bet per point. With spreadbetting, you make a bet for the thing you're betting on to go up/down, whichever way you think its going to go. Minimum bet is £1, which is what I'm using at the mo. So I could've made £50, basically - I'd have made £100 at £2 a point and so on. The bet can be closed at any time if it goes the wrong way - on the ftse, I'm prepared to let it go the wrong way up to 15 points, and on the currencies I use, its 20 points, cos they're more volatile. Clear as mud, hey? :o

    Today, what dfw work?
    - try to continue partybets WR
    - check on the garden for dog dirt, do a bit of gardening if the weather makes it possible.
    - check on what present stash I have for a little party I'm going to tonight, friend's birthday. I think I might be reduced to buying something on the way tho :o

I've just signed up for the new qype challenge ... its got to be done by 31 January, so I'm aiming to do £10 a day for ten days - thats 20 of places that have already been reviewed, or 10 new ones. Eek. I may have bitten off more than I can chew on that one. I wonder if dooyoo would be easier?

EDIT: oh well, I sort of took it up without meaning to. Started reviewing places in a local town, and I've now done 8, including five new ones! So I think thats £6.50 - tho I'll certainly aim to go over that. Its not bad, actually - just going to a town I know, and trawling through every category. Sounds dreadful, but it isn't really.
