I get rid of any deposit, then i upturn a pot over it..they have been trying to get in gaps where my veg had previously been growing..admittedly in amongst the shrubs...with large pots they have less room for manouevre! If that makes sense

Eureka! Ok, thanks Bob, I understand now.

Some of them, yes - people who live abroad that I don't see very often :D the Zimbabwean relatives are spread all over the world now, for instance, and not all of them are on the net. Science fiction buddies that I don't see so much now that I don't go to science fiction conventions ... its nothing compared to some of the ones I get, honest :o

Ooh, Bob, I'm having a play of it now while Terminator 2 is dvd-ing - actually, I may not keep Arnie 2, its a good one but I've seen it *so* many times, I realise. I just like Sarah Connor! But I prefer thinking about hedgehogs, really ....

El - this is probably why I feel so aggravated by Christmas cards! Maybe I should learn something from this.

  • I have just watched the Sarah conner Chronicles..sky plussed it off Virgin.I loved the original films and like the new take on it as well. I hope you like the garden programme, there is also a fox and hedgehogs.
Oh and if you like Sci fi type dramas then try and catch the surviviors one on there as well, i have also watched apparitions..i really should get out more but when i am awake at nights i need something to take my mind off...

HI KC ..just thought I'd plod on over.Had a read of the Dec posts ..still don't make head nor tail of the trade thingy but at least you are doing it nowadays so that's good.
My gas usage was 80 units as well in that period which sounds a lot..I was really shocked but guess that's normal usage!!!

    Hiya

Bob - I missed the start of the Sarah Connor Chronicles - I'd like to get into it tho - but I haven't done the iplayer or Virgin equivalent yet, thats a good idea. I loved the original Survivors, and I've been dvd-ing this one, not quite sure if I'll take to it long term, but I *want* to, if that makes sense!

Taxi - the trading, I know, I know - just ignore it. I must get myself a diary at blogger or something. Thanks for the feedback about your gas useage - I was really concerned, but at the mo I think I *can* think of a few ways to cut down. More exercise! Healthier for me, and cheaper too. And the microwave I'm getting from Amazon, that will cut down on the 'leccy. And tho most of my lightbulbs are green, not all of them are. And last night, I turned off the gas fire before I usually do, to let it cool before I went to bed, and it was fine. There's room for manoeuvre, I'm not paying that regularly!

Today, I have an Asda delivery, and I want to go into town:
    - answerphone has died, I need to check out what's available before I buy one, probably online but you neverknow.
    - check out Woolies, I'm afraid - I remember seeing a really good quality mortar and pestle, and if that was on sale, I'd get it.
    - Tesco's: slimline DVD cases, bulk buy pepper (for the garden, against those cats!), pesto (Asda's is a lot more expensive, ie 20p or so), and barley, as per an OS thread recently. Again, Asda's is a lot more expensive.
    - might as well go to the bank today, and save doing it in London.
    - I'll take my presents list, if anything leaps out at me, I'll take it.

  • It does make sense, i am getting to quite enjoy it, but think some bits are quite cringing..but very 'Lord of the Flies' kind of drama.
Hope you have a good day and get loads of pressies.
