I'm from Liverpool, and my brother is a real Scouser - absolutely *ferocious* sense of humour. I can't do it myself, but I love it - thanks! Gave me a good giggle

We were thinking this next year depending on finances..as friends are constantly badgering us as well as the rellies..so air fares and a bit of spends..Lottery!!!!:rotfl:
And this is where it gets scarey, because all of our family like a bit of genealogy and of course we hanker from Liverpool, Wales and Southern Ireland..oh aye I am very cosmopolitan Tha knows:D :rotfl: :rotfl:
We even have a few interesting stories re Grandmas family and brothers and sisters found which she never knew existed, as well as my dad's long lost brother..all interesting no?Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Hello! Did you realise that this thread has been viewed over 28,000 times? Just noticed that as it was the first thing that appeared on the screen while the super-slow work PC tried to load the page. No idea how many have viewed my diary, but it's quite scary, how many people out there have taken the time to read what you're saying (I mean any of us by that, not you in particular KC!). Sorry, that's totally off topic, but I was just really shocked. That's more people than my OH has in his phone book!
Great result on the pink garden set - been looking for one of those for my MIL but not found anything cheap enough. Shame there's not a Woolies anywhere near me.0 -
jeez panda i never thought about it..all they would get on mine is turnip obsessing and a fascination with money down couches at the moment..lolBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Thats terrifying! Some of that is regulars re-visiting, but still ... thats a lotta people! I bet its dwarfed by Hypno tho. I hope so, anyway
Genealogy - yep, I'm 100% Irish in the female line, goes back to a woman who married her sweetheart and followed him through the Napoleonic Wars, and then stayed in France during the English occupation afterwards. And I have a couple of great great grandparents who had their kids in this country and then b*ggered off to America for various reasons.
And I have one part of the family that I regard as a beautiful potted history of 19th/20th century England: an agricultural labourer born in 1835 whose children went to a charity school and learned to read and write. He married a woman who became the postmistress, and their eldest son became a railway clerk. His daughters became dressmakers. One of them gave birth to my grandad, who was something of an engineer, my dad was a factory worker, and voila, we arrive at Karmacat! The very incarnation of the service sector!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
