Oh dear, that's not really ideal is it? But at least you have a plan, and I'm sure you'll succeed.
Been on the evil Ryanair site tonight, they've got a cheeky 'closing down sale' bit where they seem to be gloating about the other airlines that have closed down - slightly unpleasant I thought! But on the other hand, you can get to Barcelona with them for a fiver.... :rolleyes:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Yikes! Those seem like big numbers. But good to know exactly what you are working towards. Good luck. More spread betting/trading?0

Hiya!
Ug, feels like I've been offline from mse for ages. I had a lot of work on Thursday after I'd posted the above litany, and on Friday I had to leave the house at 7.30am, knowing I wouldn't be back till midnight. Very ug. I coped okay on Friday, except for an upset stomach, but I've had kind of a migraine, which is only now letting up, tho I still feel a bit sick. Still, I got 8.5 hours in bed, most of it asleep when I wasn't up with an upset stomach, and thats more sleep than I've had since I don't know when. I think I just worked myself into the ground - I *have* to get more variety into my life - the ballet classes will start that, and I'll do more.
Anyway, the reason I had to leave the house so early yesterday was that I had that focus group in London I'd booked into! It was fantastic! For any of us who do online surveys, it was a piece of cake, and it was *so* much money! Seriously, people, anyone who can get to London for the odd day is well advised to do it - they pay in cash, which is very funny lining up at reception afterwards to get your dosh in a plain envelope - I'll have to declare it tho, as its going into my savings-for-debt account. You do have to agree to be videotaped by this lot, by the way, thats the only issue.
The two focus group names I've got now are focus4people and focusforce - and two other very kind attendees said to go onto the websites, don't just wait for the emails to come through listing jobs. They also suggested being slightly economical with the verite when it comes to age, tho of course I would never do such a thing ......
I certainly want to do it again - I'll just have to make sure I prepare even more carefully for it, pack my bag completely the night before, do my food prep then too, it will start the day much more easily.
And now..... ta-da! ..... I'm off for two weeks - tho next week so far reads as follows:
- 2 mystery shops
- plumber, builder.
- doctor's appointment, mystery shop, prepare spider repellent thingies.
!!!!! Today is necessarily much, much quieter, I'm not even sure I'm going to go into town this afternoon - I'm still not washed and dressed, and I'm really not sure how I'd cope with even an ordinary bus journey at this stage. Best to hang out locally I think, take my library books back here, have a nice bath, do my thing.
Off now to catch up on some diaries....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
:hello:
Sorry to hear you're a bit poorly. Migraine - eugh. That's not good. Hope you're a bit perkier in plenty of time for the ballet.
Really glad that the focus group worked out well, and impressed you'll be declaring it when it's cash in hand. I've done 2, one about car tyres, the other about frozen food and they were both quite interesting. I'm signed up with indiefield (who mostly do London, but occasionally have high-payment online surveys as well) and considered response who do all their groups in Nottingham - I think they have other areas as well. Give me a shout if you want contact details for either and I'll look it out in my emails.
That definitely doesn't sound too promising about the leak. I think I'd get the builder to have another look at it. Are you sure you want the same guy doing the tank work??? Have you tried myhammer? We got our plasterer through that and it's a fab idea. (They pay a fiver for referrals, so give us a shout if you're going to sign up, but that's not why I'm recommending it!)
Hope you feel better soon and enjoy the rest of the weekend.0 -
Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly and run down - make sure you take time in your two weeks off to do some relaxing!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Hiya!
Panda - Interesting about builders... the thing is, he's very local, he only lives two roads away, and he belongs to checkatrade... the leak isn't coming from the lintel, it existed before he did the work, its somewhere in the brickwork above, I can't blame him for that.
As for (some of) the rest... well, he's a builder, not a decorator. To be honest, when I think about it, I don't even know if he worked on that section of the guttering - he installed guttering at the front where there hadn't been any before, over a chalet window type thing, and repaired the guttering at the back, which *is* fine - but this stuff thats leaking is the lower bit at the front.
I might sign up to myhammer anyway, and I'll deffo give you a shout if I do
Red - Oh yeah, I'll make time for relaxation - after those work things, I'm off to my mum's for a few days - we've got some touristy things lined up to do in the Capital of Culture series, and I'll see my brother, and hopefully my nephew too (the one who's going to be a dad). Then, I'm not coming straight back here, I'm planning to go to the Centre for Alternative Technology in mid Wales. Then I'm back for 4 days here before I start work again, and I'll treat them as holiday.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
That's good then, I was a bit concerned that he was a dodgy builder - you can never be too careful. At least you know where he lives...have you got a baseball bat, just in case?0
