:o beetroot, oh dear, sorry Bob!

Right - the first euro bet went fine - lost at the exchange, won at the bookie. Since this particular bookie gives you the freebie upfront, I'm going to check the rules of how much you can bet on one go, and *do* it all in one go if I can, it wil get it over with. As long as I can find a good match.

The mystery shop was a bit odd yesterday. One of those where you announce yourself, and there was plenty that I was supposed to do that I couldn't do, either cos the materials weren't there or the manager didn't want me to do the stuff. And I mean, what can you say? Okay, thats what I said.

Had quite a bit of work-work last night, which is why I wasn't on, it all adds up, especially since I'm on holiday for a few weeks, no money coming in.... the joys of self employment!

Today: a meeting, the builder is coming round to look at my poor hot water tank, and about 3 hours work this afternoon. I also need to print out the material for tomorrow's mystery shop, as I need to do it first thing in the morning so I can be back in the house by midday to work.

Hopefully today I won't need to cook for too long, and I can actually pay attention to the Dow in the later afternoon/evening, ad maybe trade again - not sure what its like when it reopens after a bank holiday, must make notes on that.

I'm so envious of qualifying for a focus group :D
OH got close once, but was politically unacceptable  he had the right car at the time, I was really disappointed :D

Can you report back and say what happens? I wonder whether it is like a school exam :o

The boiler! Oh god, if the boiler breaks down, I break into the Pep.... at the mo, its just the carrpy (?sp? :) ) hot water tank, bad enough. Also means my bedroom has to be tidy again, as they'll need to walk through.

Sorry I ducked out of the conversation, Mizmir... I was on later (on your thread!) but didn't come back to my own.

The hot water tank - I was warned about it years ago by another builder - its leaking, basically, and it now has an attractive green stripe that extends into the floor. The leak has blown the plaster on the wall and ceiling below, tho that doesn't need to be re-done yet, it'll do when I have the house renovated before leaving for pastures new.

My builder has agreed to quote for an ordinary cylinder and a dual coil one - dual coil basically means that as well as using the ordinary boiler to heat the water, it can take input from a solar heating array. As long as it doesn't cost a thousand pounds more or something, I'll probably go with that, as I intend to put solar heating in.

The other complication is the size of the pipes, which are huge. I don't have a pump to run the central heating or anything else for that matter - its all gravity fed.

Right, I really have to get a shift on today. This is the list:
    - prepare for mystery shop: need details of another address, & must remember to take my diary with me. done.
    - water plants done.
    - phone doctor for appointment. done
    - phone focus group people, they left a message for me.
    - go do mystery shop
    - make lunch to take with me, so I can eat on the way home. done

    Then this afternoon:
    - check at post office delivery system, for the non arrival of Stargate S10!!!
    - input mystery shop data
    - read meter for Scottish Power, I'm going onto their fixed rate.
    - follow up on query email about the electronic spider repellents - only one has arrived, and I ordered three.
    - put washing machine on.
    - storm through some emails.

I also need to storm through some email replies, and start exercising for my new ballet class! The ballet class thing is great, I found a local teacher trained in the same system that I grew up in (BBO, British Ballet Organisation) and who knows my school that I trained at! The school is now run by a woman who was a grade above me when we were teenagers, its lovely to know she's carried it on. I won't even be going in at adult beginners level, I'll be going in to a grade 4 class - for those who don't know anything about ballet grades :o thats what a 9 year old does - that'll be plenty for me, actually!
