I *did* feel lucky! I didn't actually get onto the beach, you understand, I was desperate to get dry, not really dressed for orienteering (!) but it was great. I've just reassigned the shop I didn't do, and it was ridiculously easy, no question of them deallocating it, so I'm really happy I made the right decision. Just got to input one set of data, and that'll be fine. Got some work-work in half an hour, and then I think I might just relax after tea with something really easy, like a lightspeed survey!

And on the grocery challenge front, I spent £2.80 at Tesco:
    - 0.38 on 1kg of value pasta - the wheat intolerance can go hang, for that sort of price!
    - 0.59 on 1kg of porridge oats (ha, they were on the shelf at 63)
    - 0.64 on 0.75kg of bananas.
    - 1.19 on 1.4kg of potatoes.

Plus 40 extra points, a competition entry for a holiday, and a free bag for life. Hurray! How to get the most out of Mr T.

I love the sea. For about a year after uni I lived with my sister at Cullercoats on the north east coast - literally across the road from the beach. It was wonderful - long walks with the dog along the shore - I loved it in winter especially when it was quite wild and very deserted!

Well done on sorting the MS. That is what would worry me - not being able to see them through because something else came up.

You never thought of fermenting your wheat to reduce its effects?

Hi Z!:hello: How you? You know so much about so much, its kind of scary.

"Mass spectrometry matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight and reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography analyses confirmed the hydrolysis of gliadins. As shown by immunological analysis by R5-Western blot, the concentration of gluten decreased from 6280 ppm in the control pasta to 1045 ppm in the pasta fermented with lactic acid bacteria.....The scores for stickiness and firmness were slightly lower".

I just love how it descends into stickiness and firmness! I read this and thought of... Monty Python, I'm afraid..... my reading age is pretty good, I was tested at adult level when I was 10 years old, but really.... you're having me on, aren't you? My laser isn't working. I could use my light sabre, would that do? The Force would definitely have to be with me, tho, and its off over with you on Wednesdays. I'll have a go tomorrow.

My MSs have been kind of haphazard this week, I think I'm doing too many. I have to phone one of the ones I did today to change the phone number I gave them (oops), I've got two biggies to do on Monday, two inputtings (?) to do on the Tuesday, another one on Thursday, and another one the week after that in a nearby town. I need to slow down - get back to being out in the garden. For the debtbusting, I can learn to m.b. on the horses. Oh yeah, and I can trade....

The virtual trading today was another winner. I'm going to do some revision tomorrow morning, never mind the fiddly bits of debtbusting - if I could make in real money what I make in virtual money, I'd be debtfree by the end of the month!

The trading sounds like your thing - keep at it. Do you get real money?
Not the weather to be in the garden though Karma!

Absolutely - it might have less gluten, but if it felt and tasted like a snack from a baby's nappy, you might have second thoughts...

The laser is just to determine the absorbtion/emission spectra of the various compounds in it. Just a fancy flame-test. You must remember the flame test from school?

"If it goes that colour then it has copper in it..."

Well if it goes another colour, then it has gluten in it...

Mizmir - hiya, yeah, the trading *sounds* like my thing, doesn't it? But its not real money yet, thats the whole problem. My trades consist of assessing my screens and saying yes, I'd buy/sell THERE! But not pushing a button to make it real money. Not yet, anyway - thats what keeps me going.

ZTD - okay, I confess, I was terrified! No, I just laughed straight away.... flame tests; um, I remember bunsen burners being alight, lots of them. I remember rushing to the back of the class. I had useless teaching at school - I managed to get a diploma in astronomy a few years ago, but at school it completely passed me by.

Sorry you're so tired Z, hope you've got something relaxing lined up for the weekend, as well as sleep. Take care, don't push it too hard.
