Hi everybody - probably a bit late in the day to join the 'chat' - I haven't really ever posted on these old style boards but I have been 'lurking' as they say for a couple of months (makes me sound very sinister.. not sure I like the 'lurking' moniker!) I have had a horribly miserable day feeling run down and tired. I had quite a bit of light relief at the baby show, earls court later on. Being 4 months pregnant I was given two tickets as a birthday present. We got there about 3 to see frazzled looking parents and hugely pregnant ladies leaving the exhibition centre bent over LADEN with baby stuff. It was quite impressive the amount they had balanced on their buggies/arms. I coudn't quite get my head around the fact some women had spent £14.50 to get in to be bombarded with advertising and come out £100's lighter - I suppose nobody wants to feel they are cheating their baby. Best items were a musical scarf 'ideal for breastfeeding to keep the baby entertained and focused' (I ask you what is the world coming to??) and a 'breastfeeding' necklace which was basically a gopping (ie hellishly unattractive) long necklace. Nothing more. The idea being the baby could 'play' with it whilst feeding. Probaby also to teach the fundamentals of multitasking from an early age. Don't get me wrong I shall be buying baby things but I found this demonstration of greedy consumerism a little sickening. I loved seeing loads of babies though and got some excellent ideas but alas left empty handed!!
My Other Half is heading out to watch the rugby later but has just made a homemade curry so I shall eat that with him and then run myself a bath and read a magazine before having an early night.
The flat is an absolute state -- I don't know how all of a sudden every Saturday it has just desintegrated into a dumpsite in need of a thorough clean but it does. Its in need of some Sunday deep clean therapy tomorrow. Need to start following the flylady thread methinks.
Hope everyone enjoys their evening! Good luck England!0 -

Hi Redruby - I know, I will become addicted (hopefully to cleaning) - I was out for friends birthday last night and returned back to her house early (the affliction of the eternally tired) and just couldn't resist tidying up all the debris, clingfilming all the food, sorting out the fridge - perhaps my nesting instincts have kicked in early? Thankyou for the congratulations... I am very excited!!0

 Evening all, late one today tried eariler but got kicked off NOT by this site but by internet explorer:mad: Aw well. Saw 1/2 sisters friend again in Tesco she had another "little chat" wish she would mind her own business but dont think thats likely any time soon.
Am waiting for DH's birthday cake to finish baking and have done the veg for tomorrows birthday dinner. Had a bit of a shock as Tesco don't sell quorn "joints" (well the one I was in dont:eek:  ) so hared off to Morrisons and got one there. DH loves roast dinners and as I hate nuts we tene to have quorn or I do a lentil loaf.
Anyway things under control(just about) Have just had an awful half hour some idiot let a load of HUGE fireworks off right outside the house.Cue total chaos. I was here with 6 of our lot there was total panic thanks moron:mad:

Evening all,
Haven't read to-days thread...may fall asleep as I did last night before I manage to get through it.
Hugs to all in need or want and congratulations to all who are celebrating.
Please come back those of you who have been missing for a while
Hope that you are improving daily JackieO and PenPin
Seem to be up to my neck at present, with lunch out yesterday ( quite a few glasses of wine included)and a very nice gift from ex colleagues in the form of a substantial number of OZ dollars to be spent on next year's trip...totally unexpected so doubly appreciated.
DGS 2 is 5 to-morrow and had his party to day...huge swish and swipe done this morning and whole house looks very much the better for it.
Love to all, going to start thread now...maybe finish, maybe not

Good evening (almost goodnight!) to everybody - just been catching up with the posts since my morning visit.
DD arrived with DGS1 late morning - the twinges didn't develop into anything last night - so DGD2 is staying put - at least for the time being. We feasted on fried egg butties for lunch (not had those for absolutely y-e-a-r-s). DD was highly delighted with the stuff that I got for her last night at ASDA. The smartprice bathsheet and handtowel have had a good wash, conditioner and tumble dried - they came up lovely and fluffy (much better than I imagined they would). She'll only be in hospital for 2 days max - so they're quite good enough - AND she can use them for the baby afterwards if she wants!
DGS1 (age 6) was an absolute angel today (usually a monster when his sister is around) and played on my comp for 2 hours solid with no problems at all. I could hear lots of noises coming from in here as he worked his way through all the characters on his CBeebies website.
Congratulations Reformed on your bump! Do you know what your having yet (apart from it being a baby, that is)? Is this your first? Hope all goes well for you both!
Congratulations as well to Liverpool FC - they beat Everton in today's local derby game.
I'm falling asleep at the keyboard now so nitey nite to anybody who comes after me

Hester...can see that you are already enjoying your freedom! When you finally get rid of present lodger I suggest that you spend some time drawing up some rules and regulations before you advertise again!
