Congratulations Debtfreewannabme! Are you going to have to change your username now?!

NSD here finally, puts me at 10/18. If I only spend on 2 x weekly shops and 1 x hospital parking before the end of the month then I'll make it. If the weekly shop takes more than one day I've had it... Will do a budget update one evening when I have my notebook in front of me. Groceries could be tight as DH is home for 2 weeks. I could just put off the second weekly shop until 1 April to cope with this but it feels like cheating to me!
Had a long term finance chat at the weekend with my impending maternity leave/giving up work and DH moving bases. We are going to have a tight 12 months, necessitating a lump sum mortgage overpayment to lower our monthly outgoings, and not saving regularly (only leftovers which may be few and far between, and any bonuses DH gets). I think the reality of the figures I showed him have been a bit of a shock, I'm trying to start easing him in now.0 -

We have some money in EF so next goal is to build that to 3 months living costs and then save for a morgage deposit x Today is a good day! One I'll remember for a long time x

Feeling bit flat today. Not helped by tradesmen not getting back to me grrr. Bet my new patio doors wont be fitted this week either, doing extra steps walking around the cooker in the middle of my kitchen floor. Hate my house being upside down - stressing me out. Miss having a oven now.:(
Sneaked out of office and met my daughter with doggies on the beach. Nice sunny day, wind tad cold on my ears.:D
Yesterday I ended up spending. so back to 8/18 NSD.
Popped bag in charity shop and looked in co op at yellow stickered items, got some grapes, strawberries, custard slice oops. Then got a bottle of wine which was on offer. Slapped my wrists hard. Small spend £7.50 in total.
Have arranged to meet dd for a coffee after work so will spendy day. Didn't see her on her birthday last week as she was away so my treat.
I can't see an end to my debt, try not to spend and another disaster comes along. Hopefully just a bad month and things will get better. Concentrating on paying off credit card spent on this month before anything else now.:)
Gosh I sound miserable.
Grateful for
£20 M & S voucher for my cooker purchase. £5 surveys.
Sunny weather

First time out for days. Weather was lovely and it was good to get some fresh air.
Bought a supply of birthday cards (10 for £1.00) and basic needed vegetables (carrots. onions. celery and potatoes). Also found some YS sausage rolls, pakora and cheese, Lots of lunches out of that lot.
Suggestions needed. I am making up a box of basic cleaning and cooking items for the boy moving into his new flat. Nothing fancy but anything you think would be helpful. Got ideas myself but I'm sure I've forgotten something.
Thanks everyone.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -

Calling14 sorry to hear you're feeling flat. It's one thing that gets me down when you do your best to get things sorted and others let you down/ dont meet up to expectation! Hope tradesmen get in touch soon. You just sound 'real' we all have flat days, chin up.
Your walk on the beach with your daughter and cake sounds so lovely. Hope this cheered you up xI am now debt free:T - 20/03/18. Whatever your situation - just.keep.going!

LavenderBee thanks so much. If I knew how to change my name, I would
I remember having a simular chat with my DH as we approached 2nd lot of maternity leave ( 12 months) in 2 yearswe suprised ourselves with how we managed ( we are at the end of it now and I'm back at work). Sitting down and writing out a budget really helped us, so much so that we knuckled down and became debt free. Something I never thought would happen so soon especially after having 2 years off wrk. Best of luck to you both x
