Wood burner is limping on but it’s not great. Got an oil filled radiator in the living room so that’s cosy, electric blanket on the bed. We’ll be fine.

  •  Hope you feel better soon. If nothing is staying down, try ice lollies, they will usually stay down and keep you hydrated if nothing else will.

Thanks everyone. Things are staying down, just exciting exceedingly quickly!

OH has been and had his haircut. It doesn’t take very long as I think it needs more polishing than cutting. He also got charged the OAP rate despite only being 55 which I found hilarious, then reminded him he likes a bargain!  Whilst we were in the area, found the physio place where the old girl is going on Tuesday. Feel better knowing where I’m going. Bought a new bin for the shop, laundry basket for me and a USB gadget for the computer. Now home to watch the rugby with my eyes closed.

Love the idea of watching rugby with your eyes closed. Made me laugh.

  • Hopefully your innards have settled down and started behaving a bit now - if not treat yourself as you would a dog with a poorly tummy - white food for 24 hours, and see if that helps?

Hope the boiler has been sorted now - it seems to be one thing after another with that house!

Hopefully plumber has been.  Funnily enough we had hot water this morning but no heating (whish I'd realised about the water last night)  Can't wait for a soak in the bath!  Bought the M&S Valentine dine in for 2 deal so having that for tea, about as romantic as we get these days!

Had 3 bookings for the cottage over the weekend, so that's filling up nicely, 2 weeks for the peak period.  Housekeeper has potentially sourced a new gardener to keep on top of the grass.  Not long (whispers very quietly) till the plumbing works starts.

Meal was good last night and OH bought some chocs to finish off.  Sat waiting for a chap to do a heating survey on the house, arranged by the agent.  I think this is going to be there way of getting out of replacing the stove bt saying the central heating is the primary source of heat and sufficient and the stove will be classed as secondary.  That's all very well but we've had 3 power cuts in as many months and not just for a short period either.  Still what will be etc.

The old girl goes for physio today and then I've got to pick up some parts while I'm down that way.  I've hoovered and the whole house and washed one carpet that had a stain on it that was annoying me.
