We made it back. Got stopped at Fort William, at 7.10pm the road closed at 7 and the next amnesty was at 9. However, they let us through just after 8 and then had to do a lidl shop.
Before we left DD1 needed some antibiotics as she was running a temperature. I ended up in the dog house because I interfered and called in at the doctors to chase up the prescription as ENT weren’t contacting them and the doctors weren’t talking to them. Anyway the antibiotics were prescribed. I was told she wasn’t a baby and she could handle it. To which I said she’d always be my baby! I did get a hug later on.
DS2 buggered things up a bit. He was supposed to come up but has gone off shore. His first time on an oil rig, apparently because it is his first time he’s got to wear a green hard hat.
Today we went to watch our first shinty match. It was very good. I’m slowly defrosting as it was a tad bit chilly!I cannot believe the price of fuel!!

You could not pay me enough to go on an oil rig. Glad DD is on the mend. DS is xx paying 10p a litre more for fuel than me!

Glad you are home safe. I didn't know the road at Fort William had periodic closures.

I think DD1 will be heading home in the early hours of tomorrow. Sob! Mixed week weather wise so far, blowing an absolute hoolie today and the waves are crashing in! It must be bad as she’s decided not to go on a walk she’d planned. Her recovery seems to be going ok. We’ve devised a plan to wash her hair without her ear getting wet. She sits in the bath in her swimming costume, puts a pint glass over her ear and I wash her hair. It’s worked so far.
It was one of the mutts birthdays yesterday and she turned 10. She got taken to the local craft fair and managed to hoodwink a stall holder into giving her a treat. Next weekend we are getting a border collie puppy. We are only keeping her for 6 months, then she’s going to DS1 to learn how to be a sheepdog. This was all OHs idea and I’m hoping he will do the majority of the training (I have my doubts). I’m looking forward but slightly dreading going back to puppy stages. It’ll be interesting how the fluffies react!I got a fine for driving in a bus lane when I was away. Annoying but I’ve had to pay it. Roll on payday.
NNDN has applied for retrospective planning in respect of his deer fencing. I need to get my head in the right space to articulate and submit a comment on this.
We had an architect out to discuss some ideas we potentially might like to do. Also to keep us on the right side of planning as I imagine NNDN will try to make it as difficult as possible.
Fuel is eye poppingly expensive, it’s heading in the upwards direction at speed.

All hectic - and that's without the puppy 😱
These bus lane /bus gates are horrendous. The amount of fines I've heard about it's evident that the signage just isn't sufficient.
