So July is looking like it’s going to be a very spendy month. Car booked in to have the windscreen replaced. OH is going to take it to Inverness on Friday. It’s also booked in for a service when I go south and then when I come back 2 new tyres and tracking to be done.
The stone got delivered yesterday and the wood is coming today.

Ahh it's annoying when months just feel as though you're spending, spending, spending with no end in site and all on essential stuff, isn't it. Of course that is why we budget though - and we all know from experience that spending when things are budgeted is a whole different story to the alternative!

You do sound super-busy though - remember to make yourself take at least a little bit of down-time won't you!

I agree with the budgeting but sadly the majority of pots have been used or are empty which is very disconcerting. It is going on the cc at the moment. There are savings that can be used (but I don’t want to) and one matures at the end of the month that was supposed to be going towards the solar install (which probably won’t happen until next year).  It feels very chaotic and challenging

It can be really tricky juggling all the finances and deciding whats a priority or if the priorities hange unexpectedly, that can be another curve ball.  Hope it all gets to feeling less chaotic....

It is hard especially when the other half is oblivious!
Frantic message off other work if I can go in early as cook is off so I need to fill the breach. No early finish tonight.
Starting to organise myself for heading south next week. Changed my plans slightly on return trip, so instead of driving back Tuesday night after work which wouldn’t see me getting home till after midnight I’m going to get up early Wednesday morning and make the time up later on.

Ugh yep, absolutely get the issue of chaotic finances - thanks to MrEH's car needing a chunk of work we're currently cruising in to car insurance renewals with (probably) insufficient money in the pot to cover, and definitely not enough there to deal with his service which is also coming up due I think. we CAN raid from elsewhere, but in my best 5-year-old fashion - I DON'T WANT TO! Waaah!

Had a bit of an oops moment. Nobody hurt luckily I managed to get out the way.  The cavalry came in the form of OH and he managed to get it back on track.
Had a bit of a sour grape moment, a chap was walking in the field next to us and came over to our fence. He was really aggressive, we’ve never met him before and was quite nasty. We worked out who he was and he’s already fallen out with one of his neighbours and has sent solicitors letters to him. I’m expecting something in the post as OH didn’t take any nonsense and told him to foxtrot Oscar!  The guy started recording us on his phone so I did the same back. Spoke to my neighbour and she said it should be reported to the police and keep a diary.
