It was BC she is just like Duracell bunny and never stops!  Work was quite busy last night with 23 covers, pretty good for a Friday which are normally quiet and the island is certainly a lot quieter.  Torrential rain when I was driving home.
Just had an email off Admiral to say they won’t be renewing my annual travel insurance, I had hoped they would just up the premium a bit and I wouldn’t have to go through the palaver of getting new cover.  If anyone can recommend a company it would be appreciated.
My sister mentioned earlier in the year about going to the Christmas markets in Tallin. I don’t think we’re going to be able to afford it but I’ll have a Quick Look at flights and see how much it’s likely to be.

I think Tallinn is off the cards. We’d have to fly from Aberdeen and that’s a 10 hour round trip and looks like it’ll be in the region of £700 just for flights then hotels and spending money on top. Could potentially look at next year to give us chance to save.
23 covers last night, so not bad. Tonight’s the first night of hot food so going in for 2.30 to sort out prep.
Initial look at holiday insurance and it looks like the post office might work, need to sit down with OH to go through it.
Gary Golf has got new shoes, just waiting for the quad tyre to be fixed and that should be us sorted.
I did spend a little bit of time getting garden ideas. I know what I’d like to do (all pretty major) but it’s getting it from my head and into OHs that’s proving awkward.
Right must finish my coffee and get the pooches out.

Glad the holiday was fab, well done on rescuing the kindle and boo to the timings and costs not working out for Tallinn.

Excellent negotiation on more money for additional responsibility as well - well done you for being brave enough to discuss it!

You might find the following interesting for your research on fabulous pods - these guys have been going for a while now and from what I have seen appear to be doing well - surprisingly from locals as well as visitors. I think they offer discounted prices at times for locals too. https://www.thegrimsaycabin.com

Had a night off from other job last night. It was lovely to switch laptop off and not have to start second job. Double shift today though.
OH if he remembers should be picking up the mended quad tyre on his way to work and double checking his Christmas leave. He’s got some leave that needs to be used by the end of the year. It would be handy if we knew a bit more in advance what his rota is going to be. Normally only find out last day if the month for the next month, so it makes booking leave a bit harder.
Just booked tickets to see a comedy act in November that’s in the town so will probably go for a meal out afterwards. Need to let b&b know I’m not available that night.
DD1 is having her boiler replaced, it should be a lot more efficient as they’ve taken the water tank out and put in a combi boiler. It should be finished today. She’s just been to the docs as she’s been having a problem with one of her ears for months. Turns out it’s a perforated eardrum.

Hope you get plenty of notice to plan your Christmas leave.  I really don't miss the drama of co-ordinating annual leave dates with work colleagues.  My boss had devised the most hideously complicated formula for who could be on leave at the same time and she always seemed to book the prime dates.

Ouch to DD's perforated ear drum.

Baking did not go well. The scones are more like flatbreads with fruit. I’m blaming the door seal on the oven and possibly the out of date baking soda (2018!). The millionaires shortbread is slightly better but the caramel topping isn’t as good as normal. Just hoping the chocolate goes on ok.
OH managed to get his hearing aids repaired and he collected a sack trolley wheel that had been ordered. It’s the wrong one. Sigh.

What a day!  My poor work colleague and friend managed to roll her car over into a stream and was trapped for 2 hours!  The stream was in spate, she was beeping her horn but it was really noisy with the wind and nobody heard her and she was down a ravine. Thankfully she saw her phone floating in the water, it worked and she phoned 999. The coastguards sent out a helicopter to look for her. My other colleague feels really bad because she was doing her a favour and was en route to clean a holiday cottage for her, whilst she was away.
Thankfully she’s ok, they did think she might’ve broken her leg at one point. She’s at home but badly bashed and bruised.

We were all very discombobulated at work and couldn’t get going but we muddled through.
