Oh no, you're definitely not having much luck with that boat. At least it's still afloat - was it engine trouble this time?? Hope it's easily fixed (fingers crossed).'A watched potato will never chit'...2

It’s very cold, wet and miserable at the moment. I didn’t think we’d still be lighting the stove at this time of year. DS2 has been really helpful and got the chainsaw to chop up the logs. We’ve borrowed the neighbours trailer and moved them down to the log splitter. He’s managed to fill one box.OH sheared next doors sheep, it’s been 25+ years since he last clipped. There were only 4. He did 2, DS2 did 1 and neighbours son sheared his first one. Managed to borrow a machine off a chap we know. The boat….really not sure what to do. OH has lost confidence in it. I’m not overly keen on going out in it after all the shenanigans. The current options are, OH gets it up and running and we sell it. Take it to the boat yard and get them to sort it out and give her another chance.Did 25 covers last night after a very slow start. Lots of places are saying they’re quiet. The weather really isn’t helping.Managed to book a day off on Tuesday, despite my manager being grumpy about it. OH is off and DS2 is still up. The lawnmower box I ordered for the ride on has come in, so we’re off to Dingwall to collect it. For some reason I thought it was on the west coast but it’s more the east and a bit higher up than Inverness.Paid a large chunk off the credit card. I’ll pay some more after all the DDs have gone out on the first.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

Ooh Dingwall, used to spend my holiday pennies in the toy shop there many years ago. Last time I was there though it seems like a lot of towns sadly with lots of boarded up shops and a bit of run down look3

We've had our stove on a few times this month and it'll probably be going on again tonight. It's a shame the weather is like this, especially with the schools breaking up yesterday.
Tough decision on the boat - I would be tempted to give it one more try after having it thoroughly checked over by the boat yard, but at the same time I can understand why your OH has lost a bit of confidence in it.
My DD is up in Fortrose at the moment (hoping to see the dolphins at Chanonry Point) I think Dingwall is not that far from there.'A watched potato will never chit'...3 -
Tough decisions about the boat. @pink_poppy makes a very sensible suggestion about getting it fully checked by the boat yard and giving it one last try.3

Had a good weekend. Saturday the weather was awful but didn’t matter DS2 and I popped into town, then I went straight to work.Yesterday was lovely weather wise. Dropped the fluffies off to be re-fluffed. Came back and powered up the log splitter and filled the other box.Made a Greek lamb dish for tea but very disappointed with it. Lacked flavour despite the marinade I put on it.Had a lovely soak in the bath reading my kindle.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

I'd agree with the concept of getting the boat properly sorted out at the boat yard - it's the only way you will now have proper faith in it if someone else has given it a proper going over AND given it sea-trials as part of that work too. And if after that you find you still can't really feel you can rely on it, as least you can sell it with a documented clean bill of health!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Visited Dingwall and got the parts we ordered and did a large food shop. DS2 leaves tomorrow to be replaced by DD2 and her friend, they’re here until Wednesday. So I’ll have to do a quick turnaround on the bedroom and move some stuff out the other room for her friend.Just had a different chap round to look at taking out the chimney as I’ve given up on the original guy ever coming. Just have to wait and see what the time frame and quote is.OH is off having his eyes and hearing aids tested. He’ll probably need new glasses which haven’t been budget for.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013
