It’s one step forward and one back with the insurance claim. So after the email saying they were going to pay but not how much, I hit another one asking to prove the airport parking wasn’t used. Not very happy about this obviously. Have sent them the paperwork again and confirmed that we didn’t ask for a refund (didn’t think to TBH too much going on). I also pointed out I was in Inverness and the car parking was in Newcastle over 200 miles away and 5 hours driving, plus I didn’t leave hospital until the following Tuesday when we should’ve flown the previous Friday! And breathe

Still no news on the insurance claim.
12 hour shift on Wednesday was really busy. Ended up doing 34 covers (only have 7) tables, it was manic and a late finish.
Yesterday had my haircut. Normally I enjoy going to the hairdressers but I felt like she sucked the happiness out of me, a big like a dementor off Harry Potter.  She was texting a delivery company about her missing parcel whilst trying to wash my hair, then telling me how poorly she’d been with Covid and then how awful her menopause is. I was glad to escape and did treat myself to a mocha.
Had a cottage to clean yesterday to help a friend out and another shift at the b&b last night, only 30 covers. I also got a phone call off OH to say we were hosting some Germans in their camper van. They’d been on his tour in the morning and then he bumped into them at the pier when he went fishing. They had no where to camp so they came to us. They’ve just left now after topping up their water.
Cleaned a cottage today and just having a break before tonight’s shift. I’m a bit cream cracked!

We were really busy last night and did 57 covers which is the most they’ve ever done!  Needless to say my foot is letting me know it’s not best pleased about this. I am having a lazy day today and don’t plan on moving very far.

Had an uneventful journey back down.  Had to come the A9 route as the road was closed in Glencoe, not my preferred route but made it here.  Tuesday, work was uneventful, thank goodness as was tired from the journey.  OH has bought DD1 some door handles for her kitchen and got them fitted, it looks a million time better.  We went went out with the old badminton crew and had a great evening.  Yesterday went to a friend for lunch before going into town to meet the DDs for tea.  Also went to the dentists and hygienists whilst we were back.  OH had a pedicure (he's a recent convert to them) I had a manicure and will call in tomorrow for a pedicure as we were running out of time.
Currently waiting in for DD1s fridge to be delivered but I think it might be this afternoon.  Walked into the village and got some snacky snacks for tonight and some dye remover.  DD1 did a white wash (there was something blue) that didn't quite go to plan so the machine is on and hopefully some magic is happening.  From what I can see it still has a blue tinge but has got a way to go before it finishes.
Off to the works ball tonight, so should be a good night.  Flying to London on Friday, sister has arranged for a taxi to get us which feels quite decadent.  I did tell her we'd manage the tube but she was insistent and TBF I didn't put up too much of a fight.
