The ball was good and thoroughly enjoyed it. No sore head either despite the free bar.
Managed to have a pedicure and now have sparkly pink trotters. Fridge arrived and OH sorted out its positioning as DD1 thought some DIY might be needed to install it where she wanted it to go.
A savings account matured so will need to sort out where the dosh is going to go once we’re home. Also had a call off the insurance to say they’re going to make the payment in the next 10 days. Not sure how much we’ve ‘lost’ until I can check the figures when we get home.
Uneventful flight to London, just the way I like it!

Well that was a very busy week. Got home at 2 this morning and even managed to put a load of washing on. Need to go to town to do a food shop as everywhere was closed yesterday but first I’ll check when I can get a Morrisons order.

The flight back to Newcastle was a bit stressful. DS1 was told he could use his old passport as means of id. His new passport and drivers license had been sent off for whatever reason. No problem at the Newcastle end using this. Arrived at Heathrow and tried to use the checkin computers, not working. Then a chap came over and spotted DS1s old passport and said he couldn’t fly. We explained that he flew down on it, he went off to make some phone calls. Eventually he came back and said that as he’d flown down they would let him fly back and it was a good job we didn’t have hold luggage or they wouldn’t have allowed him on. Phew!
Then It came to going through the boarding gate, the computer wouldn’t let OH through despite trying numerous times. He had to wait to be manually scanned through. At this point he was the only one left and lots of security were turning up. DD2 stayed and we boarded the plane ( I had the car key and could get everyone back if the worst happened). Lots of anxiety from me. Eventually they did board the flight. It turns out OH hadn’t been scanned by the security camera when we arrived at Heathrow and that had set an alert off. He was asked lots of questions about why he was down there. Luckily with DD2 there she had photos on her phone that helped to show his movements.  As we made the approach to land the plane had to suddenly pull up as there was another one on the runway and then circle till we could land.
Met son’s gf and GD for a meal before dropping the DDs off and driving back. The fluffies were very pleased to see us.

So glad we took Monday off, still feel shattered today and it’s a double job day. Did the shopping and was flabbergasted at the price, over £100 for 2 bags of shopping no alcohol or meat. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to eke it out for 2 weeks apart from milk. Next Friday I’m at the eye hospital so will be able to go to lidls and do a shop then.
I’ve spent ages looking at our income and expenditure yesterday, trying to sort something that works. I think I’ve cracked it but it won’t actually start until Septembers pay. Nothing back from the holiday insurance. I hope it comes soon as it would be handy for the cc payment.
I’ve also indulged in a H shaped grooming arm. I’m hoping this will help in my battle of the fluffies to manage some sort of brushing between grooming appointments.
Have to go for B12 jab and the vampires need some more bloods, so an early finish between jobs. I can drop the bottles off at the recycling and I need to purchase a large envelope.
Only managed a paltry 5.78 miles for July. I was aiming for 25. I’m now trying for 15 in August.

I was going to do a couple of hours work this morning to make up for yesterday but it turned into the whole morning. Never mind.
The boiler was supposed to be serviced today but they phoned to say they’d had some emergencies and moved it to the 15th.
Booked the dog in at the vets for Saturday morning. She needs a check up just to make sure she can carry on with her meds.
Just started making some carrot Dahl which is smelling delightful. So far it’s a nice but windy day, nothing else planned.
As I thought, no cottages tomorrow and I’ll be unable to do it next week as I’m at hospital.

Just taken one of the mutts to the vets to get a vet check so she can carry on with her meds. Literally 5 minutes with vet he gives her a pat on the head talks about the weather and then we’re out. £30 sodding quid not impressed and we have to do it again in December.
The boiler was supposed to be serviced on Thursday but they had a couple of emergencies so it’s now rebooked for 15 August.
WFH boss wanted a teams meeting on Friday morning. No can do as it’s not my normal working day plus I’m back at hospital to have the eyeball looked at.
