OH has been a star. He’s repaired the sewer pipe and put the washing poles back up.
We went out in the boat yesterday, it was idyllic. Blue sky, flat sea just lovely. We caught a few Mackerel and Pollack but put them back as they were quite small. However the main event was me catching a shark!!!  I have it on video as OH filmed it. Apparently it was a Spur Dogfish which is a member of the shark family. Luckily it got away before I could land it as they’re quite savage when you’re trying to get the hooks out. It did remind me of the scene from Lord of the Rings, when Gimli and Legolass are counting their kills and Gimli tells him after he kills the Olliphant it still only counts as one!
Still had boat drama, as we were winching it back onto the trailer, the strap snapped and the boat launched herself back into the sea, completely adrift. Luckily the fish farm chaps went and retrieved her. Finally got her secure and home. Need to get a new winch strap.
Work was ok just transitioning to a winter menu, so it means learning how to cook new dishes, just when I’d got to grips with the summer ones!

Moneywise, we have jiggled some round to meet everything. I did mess up a calculation and briefly went into the overdraft. Next month we are going to run on a smaller allocation to the pots but hopefully still have enough in them for what they’re being used for.  We will need to withdraw some money from the premium bonds to pay for the stove.

DS2 has finished his job abroad and is seeing his brother. Not sure what work he’s got lined up next.

What a stunning photo.  I'm fairly certain that isn't a reindeer but even so it's making me feel Christmassy (already!)
