@pink_poppy hello nice to see you, loved that thread but felt I never had much to contribute.Apparently there was an aurora last night at 1 am visible to the naked eye. Annoying cos I woke up at 2.30am. I’m trying to get the app that tells you when they’re likely to be seen but it’s not straightforward to do so might wait till DD1 is here (2 days to go)
not working today and unsure what to do with myself. I can do some weed spraying as they’re coming up through the gravel. I need to go to the post office to send some stuff for work and possibly go for a coffee in the cafe. Maybe go and see an acquaintance, she has dementia and it’s really hard going. Usually come away drained and wanting to insert something sharp!
We agreed the price for the stove last night and then annoyingly the other supplier messaged me apologising for the delay in replying. Grrr not sure what to do….
DD1 has a house viewing tonight. My accountant has another client selling a house and she’s basically brokered the deal and got him to accept 15k under the asking price. It’s in an area DD1 had ruled out because she couldn’t afford it. However it has a tiny unfenced backyard and she has 2 dogs. That should maybe read had 2 dogs. It looks like we’re having 2 dogs which brings us up to 3! The house has been let so does need a little bit of love. Fingers crossed she sees through that. Might have to give her head a wobble!
I’ve warned DS1 that he might need to start thinking about getting an agent lined up so he can let his house. I’m trying not to get too involved in this (difficult as I’m an interfering old bag) so he knows what it entails and how it worksDS2 as far as we know has made it to Amsterdam to start his contract. And that people ends todays sermon.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

Dementia is such a vile disease L - it's so sad seeing the person you knew slip away into a world of their own that their loved ones are excluded from.
Fingers crossed for DD1 seeing and liking the house!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I did call in and see her but had to laugh. She asks after my mum every time, she died in 2018. Then she asked what she died from which was vascular dementia. Ooh she said I’d hate to have anything like that!

Well that was a surprise! I followed DD1 through her iPhone yesterday from 4.30am till she turned down our lane. Out I ran (wobbled a bit like a jelly) whooping and hollering only to find she was being followed in by a black car. Twits I thought they’ve got the wrong holiday cottage. Then on closer inspection it was DS1 GF and GD. Naughty sneaky children! Had 10 mins before I had to go to work. Went to work with a massive grin on my chops!
b&b work have thrown a bit of a curve ball. From next year they aren’t going to do lunches partly due to getting staff (shortage all over the island) and being a victim of their own success. Boss lady is run ragged and needs some me time. Currently they do a continental breakfast. Going forwards they’ll do a cooked breakfast, evening meals for residents and people who have booked but no walk ins. During the day coffee and cakes so only occasional meal prep. Breakfast shift is only 3 hours. Ideally I’d like 20 hours. Any thoughts wise people of the web?
This morning got up made a cup of tea let the pack out (4 dogs) then came back to bed. DD1 got up and then said she needed to get something, came back with DD2!! She’d driven all night after she’d finished work. Double sneaky children. I have confirmed DS2 is in Amsterdam. However their plan has slightly back fired as I’ve only catered for 1 child and the Morrisons order doesn’t arrive until tomorrow afternoon. We have zero snacks or naughty food in. I have amended the order to cater for everyone.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013
