Yesterday we dropped DS2 and his GF off at the airport to start their travels.  They're off to New Zealand for a working holiday.  Both have got jobs to go to, accommodation was a bit tricky but they're sorted now.  Not sure how long they're away for and the last I heard they'd made it to Dubai.

Sunday we had a leaving meal for them, catered for 11 which wasn't easy considering how small the kitchen is and seating was a bit awkward but we managed.  It was a lovely afternoon and I managed to find the pen stick with all the videos on that we'd taken of them when they were little, so they watched some of that.

Whilst we were in the city I visited a Matalan and got a couple of new tops, also called in at the big Tesco and picked up cauliflower rice which I've been unable to get.

Today the girls are at the groomers and the youngest one goes for her spey on Thursday.  Friday night we're off to see Les Misérables at the theatre.  We were going to stay at a Premier Inn but we haven't got round to booking it and nobody to dog sit.

I've got my chat tomorrow about returning to the old job.  Still not sure what to do but going with an open mind.

Exciting times with the kids - but I bet you'll miss them too.

Good luck with the job chat.

Thanks everyone.  Well the job is mine if I want it.  The wage isn't what I thought it would be but a big carrot was dangled in the form of a project they'd want me to manage, which really floats my boat and one of my regrets that I didn't get it in place before I left last time.  Also because of our plans I could potentially train DD2 up to take over my job, is she/they are happy with that.  Mutterings of working from home were made but I really doubt that's practical from Skye.

DS2 and GF have made it safe and sound.  That's a relief.  The hound is off for her spey tomorrow, must remember not to give her any brekkies.

Its DS1s Gf birthday very soon.  I'm not really sure what to get her.  I did think about a spa morning, a local one does one specifically for expectant mums, I also thought it might be nice for her mum to come along.  I'm a bit unsure as her mum seems very glamorous and I'm more the wallowing hippo/back end of a bus kind of girl so not sure I'd be very comfortable.  Plus GF is working full time, I'd need to check if they do weekends.

    I'm off to ponder.

Food for thought.  If you are truly in control then a positive option
  • Don't dismiss the possibility of WFH from Skye L - it's an area that has drown hugely in the outer isles in recent years and I have a feeling that things in Skye may well be heading the same way!

It definitely sounds like the chat has given you some positive options though if on balance everything feels as though it would suit.

I've decided to take the job, its 3 days and will give me time to still help (interfere) in the business.  Going to the theatre tonight, the weather is awful loads of lying water on the roads.

The dog is very subdued after her operation, which is understandable.  I've left her at home today but come in later and will finish earlier.
