Just had it confirmed we complete on 19 August!!! So the plan at the moment is to move in slowly and not one mad panic. I think OH is wanting to do the mad panic. First thing will be to take the settees, I'm not sure if they'll fit (the living room is tiny) hopefully they will. Then I can organise the chap to come and wash the carpets and settees. Once that's done we can move. My friend is looking after our belongings and the building its all in has been made pigeon proof but sadly not small bird proof so a lot of stuff is going to need cleaning before it gets over the threshold!!!! I'm thinking I might get all the duvets (they're in bags) this weekend and drop them off at the dry cleaners, then they'll be back in time.
I had wanted to buy a sleigh bed (and take it up north when the time comes) and had my eye on one in Barker and Stonehouse, however I don't think it'll fit up north. Slightly gutted about that! I need to ask the housekeeper to double check the measurements before I resign myself to a different one.
I might need to get a plumber and electrician in. The kitchen is also on the small side and if I put the dishwasher (essential) in there's no room for the washing machine. That means that and the drier will have to go in the garage. Not a problem for the drier but not sure of the water situation for the washer.
Also there is some irony to purchasing the house, we sell garden machinery as our business. The house has got astro turf!!!! Not sure how the dogs (and me) are going to cope with that!

Astro turf can be easily replaced. You could potentially sell it too!
Glad you are going to have a space of your own again. Good luck with organising everything. So glad you have a break to look forward to as well.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Fingers crossed this time next month we'll complete!!!! Organised the carpet/settee cleaning chap to come on the Monday after completion. I'm hoping the settees will fit as still not sure.
Also hoping that badders will be cancelled and we can just go to the pub!

Had our 3 day adventure to Ibiza, what a lovely place and will certainly go back again for a longer times. Did manage to go the hippy market on the Saturday which we both loved. It all feels so long ago!
I've also booked a hot tub for the August bank holiday weekend with the proviso it might not happen if things go wrong. I'm keeping everything crossed.
DD1 and BF have completed the west highland way and were home at 1 this morning. All is fairly quiet in L land.
