It is lovely SH, I particularly like the top left hand corner and can see a camel in there, walking towards an oasis
. It tickled me that you were far more concerned about the artwork than the ceiling.....

There are quite a few different art related events, where people have stalls and sell their work, if you haven't already looked into it, please do so.
I'm a member of the drawmixpaint forum, they are not so much into abstract, however, it's the events information which would be very useful for you.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -

The reason I wasn't too concerned about the ceiling is that unfortunately our kids flooding the bath has been a several times a year event for a few years. The kitchen ceiling does need replacing - it's cracking in places and I hate to think what it is doing to the recessed lights - but there's little point fixing it while the little darlings (16 and 22) remain around to do it again! I was also upset that she was yet again damaging the vinyl and plywood backed floor that I had put down about 18 months ago. What was even more annoying is that when I went upstairs while she had put down 3 or 4 towels and quilt cover (why?) down to sop up the water - there was still at least 1cm of water swimming across the floor. So I had to shove all those things in the bath and get a new towel to clear up the water. To her it was job done - she'd put something down - where to me leaving something dripping wet in one place was why I had to put a mop bucket under that point! There's no point trying to reason with her though as she can't or won't listen.
I've not done much with my leg this weekend so it is doing better today. I'm thinking of going around the block with pooch who hasn't had a walk for a few days. As MsMoneySpider posted on her blog - it's supposed to improve creativity etc. I then need to do around 4.5 hours work as part of my phased return. Will see how that goes. Money-wise - the £172 has gone out to a CC and a mortgage OP of £102.51 - but not yet done the other £200 to CC. Will wait until DH's payday on Thursday. Have a great week all and hope the storm didn't do too much damage where you are.

Lovely artwork. As others have said the colours are beautiful and create (for me) a sense of bright tranquility. You should definitely keep it up.I laughed (in a sympathetic way) about the flooded bathroom and how putting some towels on the floor equals job done for your DD. My DD would regularly dye her hair in the bathroom, creating havoc with dye splattered up the walls, on the floor etc. Her solution was to wipe it up with a clean towel, thus ruining the towel and leaving smears of the bloomin dye everywhere. When challenged about this she would shrug and say that it wasn't her fault 🤯.3

Thanks Blackcats. I will definitely attempt the blue themed painting again. I sympathise over your DD - we could have the same one by the sound of it. Her other favourite thing is to leave wet towels on her newish carpet - or smear makeup on newly decorated walls. She doesn't get why that's upsetting to me!
I have now set my mortgage OP to be an extra £21pcm from March (the BB saving) and to make sure I meet my end of year target I've OP another £10. When I set the target at the beginning of the year I was worried I was over-stretching myself. Now with the new DD level the 1% off the mortgage OPs will happen naturally over the year.
I've still not made it out with pooch. Going to try and make myself do that now. Then I need to come back and start work.... What I really want to do is paint or write... roll on financial freedom and then I will be able to do both those things whenever I want.

SH and Blackcats you both have a LOT more patience than my parents would have done had I behaved like that - I'm not convinced that I would have lived to tell the tale, frankly!
Another one here in awe of your painting skills SH - just beautiful! Also hoping that your leg continues to feel better and that you are able to continue resting it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi EH - I wouldn't have lived to tell the tale either - but I didn't want my kids to grow up in fear... it's a hard balance.

Well I worked a short day today. I did pack the dishwasher, do a load of washing, take pooch for a very short walk and drop DD at the gym. It's amazing what procrastination from your day job can help you get done. Need to try and make up an hour.
Moved some £ around so I could get DH to make the £200 payment to his CC. So we're below £24K woohoo!. Have a lovely evening all.
