I love Sabriel and the others in that series by Garth Nix. DD1 was beside herself at the end of the third book when you know who didn't make it!

I found a cheap copy of Fearne Cotton's "Calm - The Journal" in The Works just after Christmas - it has a section for writing each day prompted by a question or a thought. I decided right from the start that even if I missed days that didn't matter as it doesn't have to be perfect - and I can always go back and write other bits as the questions resonate with me more. I'm finding that I love taking just those few minutes to read the daily prompt actually stop and think about it, and then write what feels "right" for that day off the back of it.

I got Becoming for Christmas 2018. I really like the Obamas and I really want to read it. Just haven't been able to get myself into a book for a while :(

Thank you for your comments SH. I read what the seven habits were of that book and that was all I needed to read.

Hope some of them help someone :)

An online book club in the making. Thanks EH, GAP, Lucielle and Dancing for commenting. You inspired me to listen again to 'Year of Yes' again. It was very uplifting - definitely worth more listens.... It is by the creator of Grey's Anatomy - and makes me want to re-watch that series too!

Physio was incredibly painful but she agreed the fluid had reduced. She thinks I need to work mostly from home for a bit if I got back soon.... I had a busy day. Physio. Then went to a pub and ate while listening to Shonda. Then took £40 of curtains back. Then had to go pick up DD from school.

I also plan to send some back to Amazon that I tried on the window but really don't like. DH says I can only pick ones he likes and he wants to choose with me so that could be interesting. I still haven't done tax reclaim - hope not too late. Will see how tomorrow goes.

Lucielle I adore Garth Nix - particularly the old kingdom stories - my favourite characters are Lirael and the disreputable dog!

EH - I love The Works too - always good for a bargain - but given my worst spending crime is fritter spending I am trying to avoid it. I fell prey to B&M and HB this week though - so need to add those to the list to stay out of / reduce time in.

    Sweet dreams all.

  • Glad the physio has helped but yes definitely don't even think about going back to work too soon!

Good luck finding the curtains you want, have a lovely day.

  • Haha that chimes with me too - I can NEVER go into either B&M or HB without coming out having spent something!

I LOVED this book. The bit with the Stilken still terrifies me to this day, I don't think I've ever read that bit in full, and I STILL can't walk on glass in case I break it and accidentally release one :rotfl:

Thanks Hugglemonster. I saw GP today. She has given me a 4 week - maybe fit note - reduced hours and phased return. She also sent me for an x-ray on both knees after I told her the physio said I may have a tear just below my knee and may have loose cartilage. I should get the results in 2 weeks. I hate hospitals (phobic) and I had to wait about an hour and half for a 'walk in' type clinic. I have another physio session tomorrow am. Will take pain meds shortly - then I need to clean my teeth and see the dentist and hygienist (another phobia). Oh well at least it gets it over with (and I now pay private so not having the pain of paying on the day anymore)..

The best way for me is to send in DH/DS alone and ask him to buy specific items

Love it Silver Queen. Yes Lirael's terror is very real. That's a book/series I have in 3 formats too (paper, kindle, audio - not obsessed at all!).

Working from home a little tomorrow. I have physio anyway. Boss is going to come and meet me and do one of those 'return to work' chats and agree my hours and priorities. She says she will also feed me... :A
