Your fuse box should be pretty easy - assuming it’s a reasonably modern one anyway. It should have one big red switch which kills everything - and is as simple as flicking to “off”. That’s the “oh !!!!!!” switch - so if you walk in and smell gas for instance, just hit that then you know there’s no risk. Also likely to get used when You have an electrician in doing work. More “everyday useful” are the individual switches for the circuits which are hopefully labelled. We recently had to bring two of those into action when we had the water leak through the ceilings from upstairs - turned off the lighting circuit and the shower to make sure that if water got into either it wouldn’t cause a fire. If stuff ISN’T labelled then it’s worth putting in a bit of time to identify the various circuits - but particularly lighting.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks EH - It is labelled - but there may be quirks so will cross-check with Ex. He's not turned up yet...

Hi Lucielle - I think you've got enough on running your various businesses without adding crafts to the mix. You have a good eye for design though - I can see that in the bathroom fittings you choose etc.
Well this weekend has been really weird. Ex has pretty much moved out. BIL came over in the end and also brought Ex back so he could take motorbike away (while leaving van at his Mum's). Odd thing he needs to come back for that he forgot. House is a complete tip. Can't find electronic screwdriver so my desk isn't made (by DD).He's agreed to leave doggy with me until Friday when he brings DD back from work so that's good for me (and probably MIL). I've got a new lead arriving for her tomorrow as he still hasn't brought the retractable one back. I'll keep it here as a spare... or DD can buy it off me and give it him for xmas.
I've had a spendier weekend than planned - but timing issue rather than content... I've bought a writing bureau off the bay for £25 - it will probably cost £10 in fuel to collect it but I'm really happy with the price. I'm currently watching utube videos on how to upcycle it. Hopefully I won't mess it up - but even if I did - it isn't a huge cost... Mess it up is also a comparative perspective... as worst case it could join me in my revamped shed when it gets done...
Hopefully will get revised docs from solicitor tomorrow. Will definitely chase - then Ex and I both need to sign and have it witnessed.
I'm a little bit worried I'll have to pay for the cleaner this Wednesday which isn't in my budget - as I was expecting Ex to still be here - but if I do, I do. I need the help as lots of rooms can barely move in. My starting point may just need to be to hoover the room he was sleeping in and then move everything that doesn't belong from the landing and my bedroom so I feel I can breathe... At the moment - I have rolls of underlay, decades of photo boxes etc in my room as I was trying to avoid it getting mixed up with Ex's stuff.
I still haven't done any work... or probably any of the list I made yesterday other than pick up FB items. I have however had a lovely garlic chicken and roast potatoes and veg tea (for me and DD).
I'm going to do a bit of clearing and tidying and see if that clears my head to work... Naturally, tomorrow is a day when I have to be up at 6am to take DD.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks for that. The problem with sorting out is, its got to get worse before it gets better. You'll get there

a chair. About 5 suitcases... Christmas decs, multiple other boxes into the fourth bedroom. It's probably about a quarter full now... I want to list a few things on FB to sell / give away and hopefully that will shift some of it. Some things are a rediscovery of my craft stuff that we put partially in the loft during lockdown 1 when DS came home unexpectedly. I don't want to over-declutter and then find I could have had fun crafting with some of it (upcycling) - e.g. a bedspread I'm fed up of...but which I could use as the base for a quilt...
However you may have noticed - I have too many ideas of craft things to do rather than too few so need to pace myself.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

They were knitted. Really pretty.
I am exhausted today. Not surprising really as was up at 6 for DD.
Conveyancer sent new form to Ex so hopefully nearly there. Will take 5-10 days from when they are received by the solicitor to complete. I am expecting Ex to bring it later when he comes back for other stuff.
The delay is slightly irritating but not huge deal as Ex has mostly gone anyway.
I need to try and halve a 100 page report for work. Not going well....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
