Thanks MF and Jwil.
He's taken a van load (I can't tell the difference LOL). He did have a day job - so it could have been worse. BIL can't come as one of his little ones is in hospital!! All of his other friends are now unavailable...
I've picked up a free chair via FB that matches the one I bought a couple of weeks ago - the 1k3a rocking chair with the cream leather effect... My upcycled shack (shed project) is coming closer. I am also picking up some other free bits locally shortly - including hopefully a white bar stool - which I could use with my height adjustable desk if needed. Amazing what you can get free

Mine did too and I had to listen about wasted talent and everything else. It's a lot of hard work to balance paid day job with gigs and practice, but that's part and parcel of it.
Giggled about not noticing a difference (sorry) and he's going to have to get a shift on to do it all.
Love how you're calling it the recycled shack, see if that's been taken / set up as it's such an apt name!

Thanks MF
Little one has been released after an overnight stay. She's on the mend again.
DD is chipping in and we are having a Chinese takeaway for tea.
Ex took a chair, some bookcases, books, desk. A long way to go. He only has the van for the weekend. I offered to help but strangely he refused... I was happy. Been for a lovely walk with doggy.

At least if ex doesn’t get all the stuff moved by the end of tomorrow he’s still got a few more days to sort it out before completion! If I were you when you get the TR1 sent through before you sign it send it to your divorce lawyer and ask them to just confirm that is as it should be - they will be able to run it by the conveyancing department to confirm I should think, even if that department is conflicted.Glad to hear BIL’s little one is on the mend - typical timing though meaning he wasn’t able to help!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Good news about the little one.
Perhaps he thinks the moving fairies will magically appear.
Lovely photo, you're sounding refreshed.
Enjoy the Chinese!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -

My divorce solicitor's property part - said can't act for me on that as I can't have 2 different solicitors on same piece of work - they did tell me 4 things to make sure of and I wrote them down - so hopefully all will be well.MovingForwards said:Perhaps he thinks the moving fairies will magically appear.
DD is due to put my desk together tonight (while we still have Ex's electronic screwdriver). I let her off paying towards the Chinese on that basis - and charged Ex £5 for a bowlful instead...
I'm currently trying to keep out the way. I got a free white bar stool earlier. I free adult / young lad's bike - will see if BIL wants it as a project. His eldest son is into that sort of thing. BIL recently picked up a designer bike free - did a little bit of work to it - sold it for £50 - and then used that to help fund a BMX type bike for his son. I did get another item for free - but it's slightly damaged - so will see if I can make it look good - and if not - take it to the tip. No loss either way. I'll get to play with my staple gun!
Looking around my house - it's way too serious... I want to find a way of injecting more joy... Not sure quite how yet - so watch this space... I watched some design programmes last year - that suggested both curves and colour and surprise and texture could all bring joy... so thinking about that and not just obvious visuals... I still want my house to be restful...
It looks like I'm getting a wavy mirror tomorrow - with coloured glass mosaic tiles - very me... Not sure where I am putting it yet - but it definitely looked joyful.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

@savingholmes have you ever looked at a web page called “apartment therapy”? It’s all about people’s houses and apartment. Mostly in America, but also in the UK. I like because I’m nosy of other people’s interiors.I’ve just read your last post and am thinking I wish I knew you in RL as we could have great chats about house deco. I have a dining room table, that I got free on Freecycle or Freegle, that I upcycled and that is now looking a bit shabby because of all the crafts I’ve done on it like pinning fabrics together. I’ve suddenly decided to upcycle it again in a very BellaLasagna way, and I’m sure it’s because I’ve been reading your diary and you’ve inspired me!»The road to DF is long and bumpy » Greensaints5

I'll check into that @BellaLasagna2018
You can always pm me pictures and things if you don't want things too identifying on the diary... I'd love to see your projects...
Glad you are going to upcycle again... I am so happy that all my craft collections of years - can see the light of day again... and that I get to play more... I upholstered some dining room chairs years ago in a hard wearing navy fabric. If I was doing it now - I would want something more fun.
This is wallpaper but it gives you an idea https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0844Q351D
I do remember having a fun yellow roman blind at the last house - can't quite remember what was on it - but it was made to measure by a friend so we left it. Our second house had a funky blind in primary colours of child style drawings in the kitchen... I don't have anything like that right now.
Ex is hoping he may only have 1 more van load to go. It looks like he's going to be pretty much moved out tomorrow which is fab... It does mean though that doggy is leaving me.I am hoping MIL sends her back...
He thinks he will then come back for things he forgot LOL over the rest of the week. Sounds likely. Looks like I'm taking DD to work Monday - but he's agreed to do Fridays.

I've agreed to buy the dryer off Ex for his share of the water bill (£75) so not as bad as buying new... I was looking on FB but was going to struggle to get anything reliable for that - although there were some available - I thought - I was just being petty not wanting to pay it to him. Tomorrow as well as the mirror - I am picking up a fun child's bookcase for a fiver. I think the bookcase can be part of the new shed decor... It's painted bright colours and has some animals on the raised back of the top shelf...
Once he's finished emptying his stuff (still the 12 boxes from the loft, his bed, a bedside table, a lathe, some ladders, a tent, tools and some other stuff to go) - then I want to finish emptying those rooms and paint them. I still hope to get the priority stuff for work done and out of the way at some point tomorrow and early in the week. I may then even be able to bring my holidays forward if needed - because I booked them on the basis of him being gone next Friday rather than this weekend.
Everything is a mess everywhere I look currently which is stressful (for me and DD) - but I just want the house to myself before I start resolving it. I want to create permanent labelled homes for stuff - which feels really radical. Ideally I only want to move the majority of stuff once...
Ex has emptied the metal shed at the bottom of the garden, so tomorrow I want to move some ugly bookcases (plastic) from the back of the potting shed and into that. I want to review what on earth is on the shelves with a view to getting rid... I will look whether any of it can go on FB - either free or low prices. I want to move the gardening equipment into the garage for now as part of emptying the shed ready for internal painting. Ex thinks it needs a new floor - I don't know why he thinks that (he can be quite doom and gloom but sometimes he's right). I've never noticed any issues but presumably - worst case - I'd just buy some plywood from the bnq place and sort it that way. (Although I'd then need a jigsaw... which BIL has... if he was willing to teach me / help me use it). I want the bike rack unscrewing as it will be in my way otherwise. I'm also debating whether I want the built in counter to stay or not. I'm going to wait to make that decision. There's also an exceptionally ugly cupboard on the wall - which either needs to come down or be rapidly upcycled.
I've just reviewed some net options on insulating the shed - so am going to give that some thought too - as I'd rather my stuff didn't get 'damp' too quickly etc and would want to minimise any heating if using in winter... @Blackcats what did you do about that with your shed?
So I think tomorrow's jobs are:- Empty the potting shed.
- Decide what to keep, what to try and sell / give away and what to bin.
- Chuck what I can put into the neighbour's bin to avoid a tip run (with permission).
- Do some work for my day job to make next week easier.
- Collect some FB items.
- Get Ex to show me where the stop !!!!!! is and how to turn it off and what to do to isolate the fuse box.
- Get DD to put my desk together.

Glad ex is getting on with it. You are making so much progress at the moment! I love the sound of all the freebies and low cost items you are getting, it just shows how much we can save.
Once ex is gone, you could always look to see if there is a 'library of things', 'share shed' or something similar near you where you can borrow tools and equipment etc. Olio have just set up a lending thing as well. It's just another way of borrowing stuff instead of having to buy it, especially if it's for a one-off project."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
