I hope work isn't too onerous and you get some time to yourself this weekend.
Is it not possible just to cancel the TV licence and start a new one in your own name? Seems a bit of a faff otherwise."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
Thanks Sandy. You are probably right. This person would normally go out of their way to keep the peace.
HSL 10!! I think for the divorce we were similar but a lot were joint where we then took the other's name off so ended with less overall.
Jwil you are probably right. That would probably be simpler. It's just annoying as I am already paying the DD and they can see that.
Did Zumba this morning. Hard but enjoyable. I did an hour's work before and another 3 since. DD just had her second jab. Now taking her to buy hair straighteners. Will do some more work when I get back.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Did over 6 hours yesterday and 3.5 hours so far today. Yesterday I also did some gardening and too stuff to the tip.
I had a take away that disgreed with me and still seems to be causing pain today. DD also seems to be affected. She had seconds today and her stomach pain restarted. Mine seems to be liver rather than stomach.
I am going to take a break for work and do more gardening... I am tempted to have a nap first of my body will let me...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Fingers crossed you've had a bit of nap this afternoon.
Lots happening in your world but sounds like progress on the mortgage and the divorce.4 -

Thanks Blackcats, Grogged, MF and JwilI napped most of the afternoon. Then did another 3 hours work followed by walking the dog. Hopefully I did enough.

Hope you got some decent sleep and are feeling better today!
On the will, personally I'd use a local firm and do it face to face - it tends to be quicker and easier that way. Your current wills are probably "mirror wills" - ie matching but in reverse, if you like, for you and soon to be EXH. Accordingly it's unlikely to be suitable for a codicil even if you could find a solicitor willing to do one - the majority now won't. Currently the going rate for a well written single will should be £175 - £225 assuming it is relatively straightforward which I assume yours will be. That is however money well spent as it gives you the peace of mind that you are leaving things in order and easy to manage for the young adults. I'd also suggest contacting the firm who made your original will and getting the original from them - this can then be destroyed by the solicitor drawing up the new one so you can be confident that it has gone. It's housekeeping really but it's a "belt & braces" thing to ensure that no confusion arises. Your matrimonial solicitor is likely to tell you that you must make a new will also - ask them if they offer a discounted rate for it being done with their firm.(You never know, and if you don't ask, you don't get!)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
