Well it's been another tough week. Got to the end of it though - and the sun is shining - so hopefully I can find a way to relax this weekend. Took extra meds today and finished at lunchtime and went to bed. I am hoping to make more art to help me relax over the next few days. I had a blood test this week - it appears to have come back normal other than cholesterol - so I need to make an appointment about that. At least I'm not diabetic though. DH is also struggling so spoke to the doctor for him and the GP is going to send off a few referrals and get him a blood test etc to check where he's at medically...
DD got to the end of her sixth form 'tests' and then got told that they were going to put some extra ones on - of course one is on her birthday. This last two weeks DH and I have been ferrying her around to school and buying her meal deals from supermarkets or the chicken or burger places as I haven't had what it takes to cook. I am hoping she is able to go to school on her bike again next week or two now the pressure is off for her. DS has supplemented this with a few meals - and obviously I've cooked the odd one.... Just finding things hard. Cleaner came again this week so that helped a little.
I need to do my money spreadsheet but I'm scared to look as we've been having multiple takeaways. This is the kind of thing that started our debt spiral in the first place. I think this will eat into our EF rather than cause actual overdraft... We have already paid £1914 off debt and are due another £75 payment this month. Of course our pet insurance and home insurance are due for renewal all around the same time... Will make myself download our transactions into a spreadsheet so I at least know where we're at....

I hope you manage to have some relaxation time this weekend xx"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4

Sending hugs and I know it's easier said than done but try not to be too hard on yourself regarding the extra spends, your debt pay down has been immense lately & sometimes the best we can do is just survive a few days or weeks the best way we can.
You'll get back on track, be kind to yourself and take care xx7 -
Thanks Jwil and Dancing - As you can imagine your posts are even more valuable than normal. I need all the encouragement I can get!
Well I did the scary things of forecasting our money - and currently it looks like we'll eat into our desired £1K EF by about £200 so not anywhere near as bad as I had built up in my mind.... as long as we stop the overspends now...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Great work on getting the download done and totting it up. Can you get some microwave meals / supermarket pizzas in so even if you can't face cooking DD or DS could do it easily? I know it's more expensive than cooking but its also a lot cheaper than takeaways?

At some point things will get back to normal, at the moment it's resolve one stress and another replaces it.
Hopefully DH is ok and he's just stressed or something.
Delay your debt free day by another month, just to give you some more breathing space. You've paid loads down in quite a short space of time.
Try and go for a walk, sit in the garden, get as much sun and fresh air as you can this weekend.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6 -

thank you for coming and spreading good cheer on other's diaries (mine included), even though you are having a difficult few weeks.

Echo what everyone has said. Be kind to yourself. The debts will soon be gone and in the grand scheme of things your well-being is far more important than a month here or there on a debt free date. You need to put on your own oxygen mask in order to be able to help everyone else. I yuk know the suggestion of a few ready meals/supermarket pizzas is a great idea. Probably quicker and definitely cheaper than a take away.I hope you have a good night's sleep x7
