Hi Mark - yes DS is learning. He only has one client at the moment - he needs more. Although a different client he worked for last August put him forward for a job last Friday - so his clients seem to like him - he just needs more work consistently - not easy in this situation. He does like the freedom of deciding when and where he works though but if he can't raise his income he may need to go after a traditional role. We don't want him going out to work while living with us though - as we're 'vulnerable' to the virus... Roll on vaccinations...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

There are more fun ways to make money and you've got several options at your fingertips.
That was lucky with DS, main thing is he got the phone back and will hopefully put it in a safer pocket.
- I found one up here, someone had text it with a number to call if found and I had to drop it to them!
Work will pick up for DS, he's building up a name, which is the hard bit.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Thanks MF. Yes - he's got bags of potential and is still learning loads... He'll get there... At least he's making an effort.
Just scary - as he bought his phone outright when he was flush last summer and it cost him around £1K!! He would have had to go more into debt to replace it.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Just sorted Driving licence renewal. Used passport photo so no extra cost. Went smoothly enough.
Target card paid £32 by direct debit. Now down to £439. It will be gone on pay day. I will then be left with just 3 cards...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Lucielle. One payment left before payday...
Just done on our meter readings. Will be interesting to find out how much we are in credit in a couple of days time... I think we're doing quite well - but then this room is 15 degrees and we've not put the heating on!! About to take a mid afternoon break and take the dog for a walk.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

It's scary how much these phones cost! I'd never pay this much for a PC, but happily used to enter into a contract without thinking about the phone cost, only the monthly payment.
Target CC is packing it's suitcase.

Wow, 15 degrees! I can honestly say I could not function at that temperature. That you can is an absolute bonus to you and the fuel bills. Congratulations regarding the credit card debt. You really are doing great. Totes amazeballs! What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Have to say I'm sick of being cold at work but nothing can be done. Ours is set for 20 but I click it on a bit when I get in

I've never paid that much for a phone either!! I wasn't impressed at the time - given he remains majorly in debt. He is now addressing that slowly. I am so thrilled re the CC - it's the most I've ever paid off in a month - other than when I got the PPI £.MovingForwards said:It's scary how much these phones cost! I think DH may just have put heating on. I've put a bathmat under my desk for my feet so that they're warmer LOL. I quite often have a lightweight blanket over my knees. The utility company are threatening to put our bill up by £20 pcm due to their own rising costs but I'm hoping that once the latest meter readings are processed that they won't. We are currently at least 1 month's worth in credit so we'll see. We currently pay £123 pcm yet next door (who had converted their garage and done 2 new front windows and a new front door) had bills closer to £80 pcm. DD has her fan on most of the time though and DH literally has about 4 computer monitors etc.. so we're an electricity heavy house...Tahlullah.H said:Wow, 15 degrees! It's as if I don't notice too much while working but when I stop it hits me... and I realise I'm cold. The rest of the family run hotter than me!lucielle said:Have to say I'm sick of being cold at work but nothing can be done. Ours is set for 20 but I click it on a bit when I get in

When I set my CC repayment target this month I didn't think I'd hit it. Our EF is currently at around £1K - but I think we'll end up using £100-200 of that this month as we limp into the home straight. The only thing that would save me from that is if we don't refuel my car (currently allowed £60 for that - due to DH going into work) and if I knocked off one of my planned shops but doubt if I will. Highlight of the week
We'll only be that good if DS pays me at least £70 of the £90 he owes me... Kids!!
Followed Welsh Kitty's example and got DH to cook us spag bol for tea.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
