I've not seen RHPH, that might be an interesting one to watch.
Lentils are another thing to bulk out mince with. It is easy to eat a whole packet of it without realising and not many people eat spag bol as it's done in 1ta1y with a bowl of pasta and a few spoons of the sauce for flavour.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Just thinking maybe you could buy a mattress topper for now. You can buy a new one when DF but it will still come in handy even then. I know you struggle with sleep sometimes so a comfy mattress is important.
Your goals once DF are fab.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks WelshKitty, MF, Tahlullah and DIA
I've done the lentils one in the past - may try that again. I'd be interested in the oats proportions too WelshKitty
Had a nice lie in today. Want to write some more of my story today. Also need to do the washing, decluttering and hoovering. Plus walk the dog. Plenty of time for all of it... Just need to crack on.

You don't want too many oats - it goes porridgey. Grated carrot is also good. Although we have it quite rarely now, and mix it with cauliflower rice (as we are off carbs)I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thanks for the recommendation, I think I'll try and get some vouchers towards it and get one.
I echo the suggestion of a mattress topper - it might help while you wait for a new one. We slept without our topper recently while it was in the wash, and it was noticeably different. It's only a cheap one from A*gos
Congrats on the weight loss, that's a great result"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
Thanks Jwil. I will consider it next payday. At the moment - just being careful which part of the mattress I sleep on. It's a superking mattress for which I feel very blessed - but it makes it's replacement expensive. Not sure how long we've had it but could easily be 12-15 years... We're both overweight so I think that has meant the mattress hasn't lasted as long as it otherwise would. Might be worth looking for the guarantee and seeing how many years it was supposed to last...
I've been watching the RHPH series on 5 - and found it heart-warming and surprising. I think the producers picked nice people on both sides of the fence rather than going for car crash, point scoring type TV - so impressed with that. Initially all I could see was the difficulties of managing on such small budgets - but having binged watched all the available episodes - it started to filter through that these people with multi-million pound businesses were just like me and you - and some started from a much lower base than us. I think it's made me realise how much risk aversion (and over-spending) has held us back in life - and how much more we could achieve if we were more confident. I think some of the secret is finding the right business - and it would be interesting to see the virus impact on some of those high flyers - but nevertheless I think even as a viewer it raised my aspirations about what was achievable in life.
There was an artist on there that sold painting at £20K each... Can you imagine... ? Permanent beauty people.... Motivational speakers... Shoe empires... Restaurant owners... Property Developers... Drinks and nutrition specialists... It was fascinating... Most had made their own money - only one episode I watched was inherited wealth. I like the organisation I work for - some people there make it feel like a good family - so it would be hard to leave - but I could earn more if I did leave. Still I think I will stay but that doesn't stop me continuing to explore options for making money. I still want a bigger house - I would love my own art studio... and a writing den overlooking green... It's good to re-imagine life. Lots to think about

What's the programme SH? sounds really interesting.
I love grated carrot in spag bol, makes it taste a little sweeter as well as getting some additional veg in the kids diet!
Hope you've had a nice day after your lie in.

I don't measure the oats, but would say roughly a handful. I couldn't get away with lentils, DH definitely wouldn't eat it then. I add grated carrot sometimes too, and loads of onion and mushroom.7
