I'm sure you'll work something out for attending.
Hope DH feels better soon. He is monitoring and eating regularly I assume.

Thanks DIA. Well DH is going to try meal replacements to get diabetes back under control. Hope it works. Meanwhile I've had another day of no naughty food. Breakfast was porridge. Lunch was bacon, sausage, potato, onion, mushroom, tinned tomatoes, beans - from a batch I made the other day. Tea was tinned salmon, jacket spud, lettuce, carrots and a small slice of melon. Also had hazelnuts, apple and a slice of cheese.
Had a full on work day today - and loads more work coming my way. It excites me rather than worries me so far - and helps secure my job. Need to nag for the promised pay rise again... If all the work comes off - I may need more staff too. Excited. Didn't get chance to ask for the training time off as we finished the call early as another call came in. Catching up again tomorrow though.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Work sounds positive. The course sounds exciting too. You are having a great year so far (obviously the Covid situation is terrible but you are making the very best of what you can control like your writing, your food etc). I was reading an article by a psychologist who said that taking control of what we can control is the best way to cope with the scary stuff happening around us).5

SH my mums doctors are now giving type 2 or pre diabetic patients access to a diabetic pack, which includes an app, bluetooth scales and recipe books to help control. Shes only just got it and it sounds interesting, my be worth asking if your doctors can offer anything xMortgage start date Nov 2014 - £90,545 over 25 years

Thanks Jwil. Thanks Bargainhunter. There's so much conflicting advice. We have a scale that also tells you your fat%. I don't think it is lack of knowledge that's the problem it's follow through. DH is doing Hue1 a type of protein drink meal replacement for some of his meals yesterday and today to try and get back on track. I had another successful day with zero naughty food yesterday. On track so far today too. DH says he'll cut out snacks once I get down to his weight. Sadly I weigh 3 store more than him so that could be some time. He has agreed I can knock crisps off the order this week.
I caught up on my sleep last night so that was good. Work's going okay so far today. Currently on my lunch break. DS is due to get paid again soon - and we've agreed to have a chat about food money - as he was buying his own and stopped - and it's really having an impact. On one level I feel mean and on another - I think well I've got this debt-free date to hit and I want to get there. Not currently charging him board as he hasn't earned enough consistently recently. There are worse problems.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Family always impact on your plans, be that positively or negatively. I hope DS will find himself in a better position to make a positive impact on the family on the whole rather than his current drain on finances. But, he is learning a valuable lesson now, which is that there is no such thing as a free ride.
Great to hear that everything else is being focussed on, be that health, weight or writing. It is good news that you are managing to multi-task and move your priorities as required. All positive. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

Slow and steady SH. Replacing the naughty food with good food is the first step. Try and do a walk each day next week and then increase your distance or laps on the nicer days. Focus on consistency and the small achievements.
Everything else will fall into place.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
HI Tahlullah - are chat went well. He's probably earned about £700 this month (£300 in December). It's very up and down. I agreed for this month he will buy himself £20 worth of meat a week and that he can put most of the rest of his earnings towards debt as he's paying horrific interest. Trying to teach him responsibility but it's a difficult balance. Told him he should know to the pound how much debt he's in and how much interest he's paying. I said it would help him look at the £5 coffee and realise it was costing him £7 with interest and then might not buy it etc... I've said I'll hold him accountable monthly for his progress. Will see how that goes. I want him to learn from our mistakes not repeat them.
MF you will be glad to know DH and I went for a walk mid afternoon today with pooch. Broke the working day up nicely.
