Being debt free opens up a lot of doors, there's no longer the need to work 5 days a week, when the wage on 4 would cover everything, that would then open up a door for retraining into something else. As you say, the holidays you could take would open up a new world personally and with your writing. It really is like a butterfly effect.
Debts coming down nicely!
Your book is coming along too.
Enjoy your day 😊Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.11 -
Thanks MF. Well I spent most of Sunday listening to an inspirational speaker. I want to get to a healthy lifestyle. So plan to stop snacking on junk food. Made it through day oneAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Lucielle.
Well made it through the first work day of the week. A friend who had c19 has returned to work and is feeling much better which is a huge relief - they were quite ill with it but not hospitalised. I've a slight sore throat and DH is exhausted. Hoping it's nothing. I did get out with DH and the dog around midnight last night and went out again just me and the dog this afternoon (nice to have some time alone).
I'm listening to the final session of Tony tonight - looking forward to it. Another author I've followed is joining him on the live virtual event. Eating healthily today so far - so hoping that becomes a new habit. I've deleted junk food off the next order. Buying fruit, veg and nuts as alternatives. Made a gorgeous soup for tea - had 3 bowls of it! (Leek, potato, carrots and onion). Still spending more than I'd like on groceries - just have to hope that we don't end up using much of the £100 I allowed for fuel to compensate. I'm not really going anywhere - but DH plays in a band at church and goes into work 2 or 3 times a week. I'm hoping at most that means he refills my car (better fuel economy) - and spends about £60.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Glad your friend is feeling better and hope you and dh feel better tomorrow.
Good news on the food shop but yes everything so much more expensive, I love leek and potato soup haven't had it for ages so will put on next week's menu.
Not sure if I already said but well done on the card payment, amazing amounts thrown at it.

Thanks Hugglemonster. Being really disciplined. That said - I've just booked a place at a training conference early March. Very excited about it. It will be virtual but nearly went to the live one last year. The virtual one is a fraction of the cost. Hoping it will help me with meeting all my goals this year. I'm going to see if work will give me any time off to go.

Great news about friend.
Stress, pressure, being run down and diet changes do affect the body. It's probably nothing and you need a good rest.
Conference sounds good, flexi time it if you need to.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Hi MF Flexi is a good idea. Will try and get in work to give me the time off. The course of us around 12 hours per day and is run from America so starts around 3pm and finishes at 3 or 4 in the morning.
Sticking with no snacks still. Going well. DH still feels exhausted but I think it is diabetes related.
Paid another £100 off debt. Likely to go slightly under EF of £1k at end of the month due to conference but probably have gap covered by cash.
