You've been really productive, and good news about the book and potential new book!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

Absolutely fantastic December debt reduction figure.4

Thanks everyone - your encouragement does mean the world. DH is glad of my efforts but doesn't hinder or particularly help.... He'd be lost financially if I died before him. Especially if I hadn't cleared all our debt first. He's a big thing spender rather than a fritter spender though - so once he got in the swing of things he'd likely be okay.
Slept from 5am again but had a long lie-in. Want to tidy up the lounge a little today and may clear my desk to make writing my book and working through the Amazon book uploading checklist more comfortable. Either that or move my computer chair and use that for the table in front of my armchair. It may be unconventional - but writing is fun and relaxation for me.
Money-wise I plan to pay another £243 out of this payday - but that will be in January. Tucking into a fruit salad of strawberries, mango, pineapple, melon, apple and banana for brunch. Feeling blessedAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

The books sound really positive well done, and great amounts paid to the debt. My dh would be useless with the budget too but I think he would cope after a while, not knowing about a £2k policy says it all though!
Hope you're having a lovely relaxing day, H x4 -
Thanks HM. Having a lovely day thanks. Just eaten a lovely roast pork dinner with cocktail sausages, stuffing and all the trimmings. Gorgeous. DH has gone back to bed so will have to have his later. Still debating whether to see MIL for DS's birthday. By then it will be about 10 days between seeing others. Doubt she could say the same though. We've not see her since September I think. She says she wants quality of life and just wants to see us... and is happy to take the risk.
DD has found some money while tidying her room - so has given me £11 more towards her IPAD. So I'll pay that off the target CC. I've been reviewing our £ for this month - and will make a payment of £168.41 to the target CC. That should mean that by the end of this pay period we will be down to £15.1K. So £10K paid off in 54 weeks. I aim to throw as much £ as possible at debt in the early months of the year - in the hope we can just get it gone. It will be just such a weight off once it goes.

Just caught up again & it's lovely to see your diary full of positivity and productivity. Glad you had a good Christmas.
My DH doesn't have a clue about our finances. I've got a notebook full of vital info, but I think he'd struggle even with that to help him.3 -
