Can you form a new bedtime routine, see if that helps.
It's great DD got it and the vouchers made it easier on your pocket.
I don't think there will be any changes to who can go where, it will be a political ending for them when it comes to people voting.
Try and have a rest soon.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
I was awake until gone 4.30am again. I think the problem is partly I am having naps in the day too - and not doing enough exercise. Oh well. It is not raining - which has been rare recently so may see if DH will walk with me and doggy in a bit. Unfortunately I've put weight back on recently and I can feel the difference when I try and go for a walk. I did get a brief walk with the dog yesterday which was nice. Hard holding her back from all the other doggies though.
Another £14.85 has winged its way towards debt repayment. I am putting my parents NT present on hold until they are ready to go again - as they got very little use of it this year. Neither did we of ours. I'm not good at the pre-booking bit as for me going is very weather dependent. At the same time I want the charity to survive...
My normal xmas tree and banister lights still aren't up - which are contributing to the sense it's not really xmas - at the same time I can't seem to find the energy to do it - and their boxes are cluttering up the hall! I am feeling mega indecisive currently and very meh! Some of my family have done C19 tests in prep for meeting for xmas - all negative thankfully - but I can't help thinking it only gives a snapshot on the day the tests were taken and is no guarantee later... I know historians will pick back over this period with great interest and the benefit of hindsight - it is hard though when you are muddling through.

I wouldn't worry too much about the National Trust - like the church they always claim poverty but are absolutely loaded. You just need to do what's right for your budget.I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thanks Mark. I think our membership comes up for renewal in March so will reconsider it then.
I read an article earlier that suggested that by 2024 we should hopefully be over the virus - and economic impacts and could then settle into the roaring 20s with all the hedonism that came with that. I certainly want to travel more once we are able. My niece is in NZ and having an amazing time - she is sometimes the only tourist visible at places that would normally be crawling with tourists. I doubt I could cope with the journey to get there - but everything she shows us looks stunning. I'd like to go to Italy, Ireland and Portugal.... If this hadn't happened this year - DH and I were planning to celebrate our 50ths by going to Paris or Rome. It's hard not to feel something has been stolen from us this year.
Another article compared our current experience as akin to going through war - I think the lack of human contact - especially for those of us working from home and getting shopping delivered - while cushy compared to people experiencing atrocities elsewhere - is still psychologically damaging. Particularly for those of us for whom work and church was our main social contact. I really wish we had female leaders nationally too - as they do seem to have done a better job globally where they are better represented. I am not coping well with constant u-turns and flip flopping by government - and criminalising of basic freedoms - even while I agree with the need for caution, social distancing, masks etc. The descent into autocracy across the globe has been scary to witness - and I desperately hope it is all reversed once things settle.
I went to Sains/Arg** the other day and couldn't get over the lack of social distancing by some as we tried to leave the shop. You could clearly see the difference between people like me with an n95 mask on to minimise the risk - and those who go shopping all the time and can't see the problem who kept pushing right in front of us and running past us etc. Just putting it out there - in case anyone else wants to join in my primal scream....
For any censors - I am hoping that we will get down to owing less that £15430 debt this pay period....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'd join in that scream...
Seems like many people have confused rights and responsibilities.
Far too many just going through the motions of lockdown and social distancing.
Oh to be in NZ, both for the scenery and how they've handled this year...
I'll put the soap box back in the cupboard now...🙄If it's not adding up, compound it!5 -
If your naps are lunchtime, you should have enough time to tire out by bedtime.
Maybe do a half world holiday to break up getting to / from NZ.
Shopping isn't a good experience for the reasons you've said and more. In the beginning things were civilised, space kept and customer numbers restricted, now it feels like a free for all.
Things will get better, just have to wait it out.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -
Joining the primal scream. I asked someone to please step back when I was in the queue today. I added 'if that's ok' feebly as I didn't want someone getting upset but at the same time I'm doing my best to stay well here!

Totally agree re the shopping experience and also, whilst I think the vaccine is amazing, I worry that people will think it gives them carte blanche to be less careful in the future.6

Thanks Grogged, DIA, MF and Pollie - appreciate the solidarity. We will get to the other side.... Just need to keep plodding as Beanie says.
DH found the missing feet for our xmas tree - and given that moving the fridge freezer in our kitchen earlier in the year freed up space in the corner of the kitchen - I've put our tree up there. We can now walk across the hallway again without tripping over boxes. He also found a plug that worked for lights across a berry garland on the mantlepiece where the adaptor has been missing for a while. Next task is wrapping garlands and lights across the banisters. But given that my sleep is all over the place and I've gone really sleepy - I may try for an early night even if I am awake in the middle of it again.
